Hi,
I am currently selling some fotos and illustrations at Adobe Stock. I was wondering if I am allowed to include icons from sites like iconmonstr.com or thenounproject.com (pro account) in my illustration which I am selling.
Based on the terms of these sites this should be OK but whats about Adobe stock?
Your help would be kindly appreciated! Thanks!
Uli

no. anything you upload you must own copyright to.
-
It must be 100% your own creation, so the answer is no.
-
No. You're basically taking other people's work and selling it.
You risk having your entire portfolio taken down.

Unless you buy it for re selling, isn't it?

Whatever the terms where you license the images say you certify that anything you upload to a stock site is your own work, so no in any case, not okay.
"Based on the terms of these sites this should be OK but whats about Adobe stock?" is also completely incorrect. For example here: https://iconmonstr.com/license/
"3. Prohibited Uses
Licensee may not sell, redistribute, sublicense, share or otherwise transfer the Work to other people or entities."
So you obviously haven't even read the license terms you are claiming okay the usage on the other end.
As a general rule no legitimate source of images is going to destroy their own site by allowing you to resell or redistribute images.
EDIT: to add, yeah, skimmed the other site terms too. You also couldn't use their stuff even if the stock sites allowed it (which they most definitely do not)

Hey,
thanks for your reply.
@Justanotherphotographer: Especially thanks to you. Its the first time for me to dig into this kind of terms and find it somehow difficult to understand what is meant by the regulations. So for example: Where is the difference between "Redistribution" (not allowed) and "Commercial use in a project" (allowed). But I guess you are right and want I asked about is not covered by commercial use.
Thanks and best regards

Redistribution ... you cannot download someone elses’s image, then upload it and sell the image file as your own. You don’t own the copyright, that is redistribution.
Commercial use in a project...you download an image, use it in a printed newsletter, or on a website. That’s commercial use. Your aren’t reselling the actual image file, you are using the image in a project. Basically the whole point of stock images.
Downloading someone else’s image, using in with your image, then uploading to sell as your own, that’s not allowed because you don’t own the copyright to the image you downloaded.

As with all rules there are exceptions, you can use NASA images within your work as long as you give them credit.
