Anyone had much success with composites in the micro business.

I don't think IS accept them. But some seem to do well on the other sites.

Now if we put composite into the wiki of istockphoto we get ...image manipulation.
How do we then define a composite....
I know alot of people combine two or three photos into one which is a composite.HDR ,where we combine numerous photos with different exposures into one image to extract all the detail.
I just learnt how to remove all the color from an image and create a layer and only highlight/color a particular subject within that photo.The image is manipulated but is it a composite....

95% of my submissions are composites. I spend hours in post production, adding, subtracting, and tweaking. That's my thing. I really enjoy the quest for perfection. Some of my composites are obvious, because they are presented as a series. My single images are often the result of multiple shots, that are cherry picked. I'm a Photoshop junkie. Not everyone's cup of tea, but has been stated quite often, it's "quality over quantity."

Most of my activity on istock at the moment is in the steel cage. Plenty of composites there. I've just finished my seventh battle, so 35 composites designed and delivered (and judged). At the moment my stuff is pretty mixed media - 3D render, photos and hand painted elements. Not so good for stock, but lots of fun and really quite challenging and exciting.

No better way to learn than jumping right in Alistair. Do get yourself a copy of Katrin Eismann's excellent book Photoshop Masking and Compositing first though. Also, I suggest you start with someone a bit less challenging than Mark. Another newcomer is always a good choice when you're starting out.
