After I wanted to close the account, since nothing sold since NY and the CR employee telling me no code exist for payment via bank transfers (for possible earnings in the next 6 months before images get finally deleted) and it's the only option beside Pay Pal (because Moneybookers option clearly doesn't exist, look at the second image), I got this response :o

He's just telling me to fcuuk off. Unbelievable!

That's very convenient. Really great. If you plan on doing business for just another year or two and grab as much as you can. They give you 2 possibilities, one of which clearly doesn't work and then give you the third option to just waive payment, when they push so far (limited payments and unbelievably rude personnel) you don't care anymore and will just choose the 3rd option to get rid of them. Well not me, you bas-tards! I deleted all my images manually and if I'll make one cent out of them, I'll find a way to get it. Or just delete all the keywords, but going through over 200 shots (it was just a small sample to test the site) is a PITA.

wow! that is a very unprofessional response - i guess they figure, your pulling your port, so screw you
its surprising how many today lack common courtesy and manners when dealing with other people

Where can I tweet this? Leaf, you need to implement tweet buttons so that things like that get out there asap.

Agencies should in no way speak to a contributor like that.

I guess Zoonar has forgotten that we actually allow them to keep a commission from OUR pictures.

Thank god I'm not with them.

Yet another unfinished site.
Also, the right hand doesn't know what the left does. Bored and st**d inspectors can really damage the image of an agency.
Compared to others I've found them always too austere.

I agree, that would be a great feature

That is just terrible PR wut.  >:(  I decided (after a year of zero sales) to actually upload my complete port, due to their Getty link. So far Getty only got to my original uploads, refusing them all. Still zero sales.  :-\

I can second that Zoonar was extremely unhelpful and rude last time I contacted them too, really unnecessarily so. I just reread the emails now.  This was back in 2010 shortly before I left them, and looks like nothing has changed.

Do you see that sort code on the second image? I asked them what it is, since I've never seen it before, then I told him which country I was from and he said that it's not possible to transfer to my country (like it wasn't both part of EU and EURO, just like Germany is, where they operate). No doubt it's an internal code, better said an excuse to say they can't pay you. So there's only paypal left and they know many ppl don't use it/have an account with them (I use MB for all of the sites, 10 or so, except for Alamy, which sends me cheques)

Wont they pay through MB if you ask them?

I asked them, but the only way to do it is via their site with only 1 option, paypal. After that he told me to fcuuk off and that I won't get the money

They couldn't get anyone a sale if their life depended on it ;)

I understand their frustration, but instead on getting it out on their contributors because of their incompetence, they should be motivated to be helpful and nice, to do their job better, to get the ball rolling.

I've decided well before that to just stick to the top for and this just proves it, on top of other things like pathetic sales, that I made the right decision. I really can't understand how could anyone in his right mind continue on contributing, and regularly at that, to sites that don't even bring him a lousy % of the overall earnings :o

Indeed, I do not need online storage space, I need sales!
Agencies have to earn our hard work too.

What? Zoonar again? Jeez, these guys really know how to make a name for themselves.
Be careful people, and when leaving make sure you ask to delete your account, otherwise you won't get the remaining royalties.

Just my situation! Six month ago I cancelled my account. I think that everybody understands what that means: I'm quitting, right?. Now, after 6 months, my images have been deleted from Zoonar but still remain in the partner agencies. I asked Michael about that issue and I was told that I had to 'delete my profile' and wait six months more! He offensively said that this was new to him and never occurred before just making me feel so stupid as if I couldn't tell 'cancelling my account' from 'deleting my profile'. Now I see that I'm not the only one.

He's a liar. The bold part is simply a blatant lie, because he already knew AT LEAST from my case this situation, so obviously it wasn't new to him.

Zoonar idea's was good but i guess when it was up and running in the real world they realized it was not financially sustainable, anything else is the obvious consequence.

I thought Fotolia were in a class of their own when it came to this kind of thing but it seems that Zoonar are playing in the same league, at least as far as the treatment of contributors goes.

This just happend to me at YAYmicro, except for the fact that my account was indeed removed, now 6 months later, they are still selling at partner sites.
Support replied with a notice they are looking into it but I get a feeling they don't care much, forcing me to take further steps.

So it's not only Zoonar, YAYmicro also! be warned guys!

That's odd, I have always had really good customer support from Yay, basically the opposite to Zoonar. They were always on live chat when I needed them too.

I just don't bother leaving sites.  Had a few payouts from Zoonar without problems.  They haven't sold anything this year but I went over a year without selling with MostPhotos and they are doing better again now.  FeaturePics ground to a halt for a while but picked up again.  Sales are still very slow but it's possible to get a payout every now and then.  The only site I left was albumo.  A few sites have closed, like Lucky Oliver and Zymmetrical but they gave me my earnings, even though they were below the payout levels and I don't regret giving them a chance.  I might lose out one day but I have an overall positive experience with the low earning sites.

I already manually deleted all the photos (that means they're scheduled for deletion in just over 6 months). I OTOH, have nothing but bad experiences with sites outside the top 4. Sites are often not working properly or not working at all, their MR manager doesn't attach MRs and you get a whole batch rejected, support is lousy, they lie about how your photos are going to be reviewed within an hour, but than it takes 2-3 days and another 2 for them to get processed. At some sites it takes 10 days. Support and reviewers are usually below all standards and if they have the option to complain about a rejected photo, the process is so complicated that you give up way before you get there. But above all, sales are pathetic. Oh yes I forgot about 123RF, we've never witnessed such a ripoff and pathetic spins.

I know, I am resurrecting old tread, but I am just curious what is your current opinion on Zoonar? Are they still relevant as low but steady earner? I see from the ranking on the right that they have the same score as Bigstock (if you hover above it). BS is doing relatively decent for me, so I am debating if I should join Zoonar as well. Did they improve their attitude towards contributors? Any additional bad experiences since 2012?

I wouldn't bother.  Year before last they were .3% of my income across agencies.  Over the past year that dropped to .1%.  I've had no need for support, but I supply content to make sales and they don't provide any.

I don't think that they are rude, but their English sometimes is a little rudimentary.  I've learned to like it there. No sales yet but only time will tell.

No sales, lets celebrate how good they are like the rest of the loser sites paying nothing for your work. Or is it the higher percentage of nothing that's impressing you? Why do people borther with these places?

They were quite good for selling to sites that I hadn't uploaded my portfolio to.  I was getting a lot of sales and payouts before a site closed down.  Now I hope they can generate sales from their own site.  Not happening at the moment but I have been pleasantly surprised by other sites that had long periods of no sales like Mostphotos.

The reason to use these sites is that you can get paid a reasonable amount for the very little time and work involved.  Some sites aren't worth it but I would of lost a lot of money if I had followed the advice of people telling me to only use the top 10 sites.  Definitely not worth it for anyone that doesn't get regular payouts from the big sites, as they are unlikely to reach the payout threshold on the smaller sites.

I support them because they have fair commission rates on a 50% basis. You can set the prices for your pictures, set your own picture shot etc. I can upload RM pictures. It seems like a very small company, I never communicated with more than one person there. They try to keep their costs down. It is not a times square company that tries to exploit you. I have not had sales there yet, but when a sales happens, it will be worth a few of my sales at SS or other exploitative sites.

Uploading is not too difficult and it only takes a minute to add a text in English and chose the correct license. It takes a fraction of my time.

Hi Joyt,
this is the international tax they have to deduct. You can find the information at your payment pdf.

You could save the money if there is a form for your country at this link:

Here is the rude support again  ;D:

It don`t depends from your payment method. These tax is international to pay. Youll have the same at other agencies, but you can apply an application for exemption (like the W-8 BEN in the USA) from the german finance authority if there is a arrangement with your country.
