Title: Could someone please explain Stock photomedias payments to me
Post by: rosta on July 25, 2006, 17:29
I am sooo confused and writing to their support has netted me no response at all.  In May and June I uploaded (and had accepted) 29 images.  Near the end of June I noticed that I had .58 eur in my account.  Thinking that maybe it was a .2 eur bonus for uploading I waited until the first of July and uploaded 2 more images.  I now have a portfoilo of 31 images and no sales, but now my account says I have 2.08 euros.  What in the world is going on?  I've been all over the site and found nothing to explain this, and as I said, support has never responded to me.

I don't understand the concept of "selling" at SPM.  :)

Now seriously, according to my notes you would receive 35% of EUR2 for the small size - that's EUR 0.70 - or 45% of EUR3 for the medium size - EUR 1.35.  So I really don't understand the numbers you see.

Adelaide

yeah that is odd.

I wondered if it was income from a referral or something, but i don't see any info on the site that they have a referral system.

Thank you for the responses.  I tried them out on a lark when it was 2:00AM and couldn't sleep. I have not signed up for any type of referral program with them.  I may just sit back and watch it grow until it hits payout  :D,

I just checked the website and saw that I had 1 sale.  I clicked on details and this came up;
SaleID   SaleTime   ProductID   ProductName   ItemDescription   TotalAmount   PhotographerAmount   SoldUsingCredits
1070506   6/30/2006 2:52 PM   1047804   rain drenched tomato   Small   1.67   0.58   Y
1116089   7/25/2006 3:08 PM   989149   Tall Mast   Medium   3.33   1.50   Y

At least now I know it was from sales

What about those selling prices?  They are not the ones you see in the page that explains prices and commissions.  I checked a couple of images yesterday and prices were EUR 2, 4 and 6.  :-\

This is from the site when I checked it tonight

1,5 and 6 Euros per download."

Rosta,

It's curious, have you seen any EUR 1.5 image? All I looked at were showing EUR2 in the minimum size.  But anyway those prices don't explain the sales reports.

This post has been modified as I missed the point

OK the usual price structure is

small price      2 E your cut 35% 0.7E
medium price 4 E your cut 45% 1.8 E
large price     6 E your cut 55% 3.3 E

Rosta's payment

small price      1.67 E your cut 35% 0.58 E
medium price 3.33 E your cut 45% 1.5 E

So I presume they had promotional offer  maybe 1 small and 1 medium photo for 5 euros or they just can't count

fintastique,

That's what I had in my notes, but it doesn't explain rosta's report.

Sorry I have amended my previous post as I had missed the actual payment received
