Post by: michaeldb on June 22, 2011, 18:11
"Brett Ratner has established himself as one of Hollywood’s most successful directors and producers whose films include the 'Rush Hour' series, 'X-Men: The Last Stand', 'Red Dragon', along with music videos for Madonna, P. Diddy and Mariah Carey... Brett is currently directing the Imagine/Universal film 'Tower Heist' starring Ben Stiller, Matthew Broderick, Téa Leoni and Casey Affleck..."
He is crowdsourcing submissions for the logo for his production company and for photogs to participate in a shoot for a fashion mag he is associated with.

There is if you read the guidelines for submissions.  That would be cool to participate in but I'm not a portrait photographer and I can't animate worth a carp either.

What?  No Spec! means you don't do custom request work for free on the off chance you might win a contest.

So he is raking in the millions (net worth $65 M.) and is willing pop out $1.000 for his company logo that identifies his entire work?

I think that's really cheap.

These days you just have to announce that you need a new logo done and people will eat your poop if you hand them a few DVD copies as runner-up prices.

Woops!  My bad.  I thought you meant spec like in specifications or guidelines.

I learned something new now I won't be so flipping ignorant  :P

Me too. Cheap *insult removed*.

EDIT: I just watched his video pitch for that contest - arrogant *insult removed* too.
