Hi
Can I take pictures of a golf course that is considered "Private" and submit them as RF stock if I don't mention the name or location of the golf course in title, description or keywords?

Thanks
Ruth

(PS, I know it probably doesn't matter, but I am a member of this club).

No idea what club that would be...

Many of the sites will ask for a property release if somewhere looks like it's private property vs. public. They have become much more conservative - wanting to avoid any legal issues. You can try without a release, making sure there is no identifying anything that could get you into legal difficulties, and live with the fact that some sites will reject without a release.

If you're a member then they may well be prepared to sign a property release for you, especially if you provide them with the images on a CD which they can use for their own marketing and website.

I've done a couple of freebie shoots for my club, early morning and evening, and they have no problem with me using the images for stock. Mind you, it probably helps that my regular playing partners happen to be the President and the Honourable Treasurer.

I'd suggest you speak to the President of your club or the Club Secretary/GM.

PS: I certainly wouldn't upload identifiable images of the course without a signed PR.

The problem is not really if you mention the name or not. If it is identifiable, a release must be obtained. Think you got very good advice from gostwyck in obtaining the release. Perhaps take the pictures before you do the request and then add the images to the request. If they like it, it will be hard for them to refuse  ;)
