It's infuriating. I keep finding people's stolen work on sites like Etsy when looking for mine and it seems impossible to find anyone's contact details to let them know so they can send a simple DMCA and stop someone profiting off their work.
I've wasted ages today googling around trying desperately to find contact details.
Is there a way to easily PM someone on SS for example from their portfolio? I think you can if you find them on the forum, or am I wrong? It's a nightmare.

no, I don't think so, for a couple of reasons.
a) There would be spammers spamming the crap out of contributors ('buy viagra!', etc).
b) Those that weren't, mind be asking for custom work/cheaper price (side deal)/etc - so the sites don't want that
c) and kind of along the same lines of b, the sites want the contributors to depend on the sites, not realize they can do things on their own (i.e., custom deals/cheaper prices/etc).
There are ways (although a lot of work) to find contributors if they have their own independent site, but not sure if it is worth the effort for you. Noble that you would want to contact them - but not that easy.
as a caveat though - some do allow 'inter-contributor' contact - providing your are either a contributor (or have purchased from the site) before...

Thanks, I know why really it's just super frustrating. Do you know which sites will let me PM a contributor? I couldn't find a way on AS/FL or SS, am I missing something?

Dreamstime do or at least did as I've had a few messages in the past.

I am in the same boat - finding so many stolen images these days and I think the only way to alert folks is to post them in forums like these.
-
yes, Dreamstime shows the website of the photographer, so you can visit it and use his/her contact data ...

Thanks everyone. I will try and track them down on DT, at the moment I have only found portfolios on CS, SS and FL. They don't seem to have their own site
-
Yay, found them on DT, still can't work out how to message them!!!
Any idea anyone? there's no obvious link to message from a profile page.

Yes it's not easy but you can leave a comment on one of their photos. Once you're on the photo page, click on the 3 dots on the right near extended licences. It will appear in the comments section on their dashboard.

The agencies do not want side deals either, I got contacted about a clip someone saw on SS through another site I shoot video on. They wanted a different license so I agreed on a price and did it. I would love to be able to work those deals more!
