Hello,
I have been sorting my entire catalog and archiving using Iview media pro. All my images have a letter and number for the image name ( I batch renamed them all). Do I have to name them according to their subject matter before I upload them of is there an option to name them that doesnt change the naming system I have in place. I am about to hit all the microstocks but wondered about this,as if I have to rename them...it will create some problems with my naming/archiving system.

The file name and the title used on the sites are completely different.
It is best to add title, description and keywords prior to submitting as most sites will read the data.
I use www.pixvue.com which is freeware but there are other optiosn such as Photoshop CS2.
If you haven't uploaded yet, make sure you do you best as sites like shutterstock (http://submit.shutterstock.com/?ref=60535) are very picky and will reject you if you have any noise etc. Once in, a rejection will just mean it wont be avaliable for sale but if rejected as part of the inital review, they may make you wait before retrying.
The four sites I refer to in my footer are the main sites that people make money from, particularly shutterstock (http://submit.shutterstock.com/?ref=60535) and dreamtime (http://www.dreamstime.com/res125558). There are other sites but they dont sell as much so I would only start uploading to them once up and running on the main sites.

In Iview media pro ( one of the better ones i've heard) I can do all the keywording etc. There is an annotation for 'title' will this suffice? Also....after I uprez the lower rez files with photozoom 2 will all the metadata be updated? Which annotations remain as part of the exif....all of it?

Title will suffice. Some sites don't even use your filenames. Not familiar with photozoom, but changes in Photoshop don't bother the exif data I add using pixvue.

most programs wont strip out exif/iptc data so that shouldn't be a problem (trial versions of noise ninja do I think).
What do you mean re uprez low rez files. Most/all mirco sites DONT allow you to increase (interpolate) the size of your photos. So if you shot on a 3mp camera, you cant upsize them to a larger size to get around tehminimum size requirements.

Well Photozoom pro 2 has great interpolation...and in the case of smaller images (ones I shot with an older point and shoot) if the images are of decent quality,how can they tell that I used interpolation? I shooot with a canon 30d,and even those files will have to be interpolated for Alamy (info that i've gathered).

Alamy allows upsizing as they require the file to be 48mb (uncompressed size).
Dont know how the micro sites will tell it has been upsized but they dont allow it (if caught, they will reject).

Good question. Anyone know the answer?
Alamy are tough on dust spots on the sensor, or stray hairs, but they require upsizing which must also add something extraneous to the image. Da**ed if I can see what it is.
