When you have a file refused, do you resubmit the same file again some time after that to see if you have more luck with the next reviewer? Do they know what files we submited before?

I have done it, not many times mainly when I feel the picture is really worth, I have heard that other contributors have received warnings etc so you do need to be careful

I never resubmit to any other agency perhaps because SS is the one I am more concerned to have pictures online, you can always change it a little

My Experience:

SS: Yes, and batch it separately with message "re-submission" "Love You" Etc..
Istock: Only images refused because keywords issues or Logos/trademark that are only seen by them ( except train lines ).
123RF: When they start with mass rejections, I pile up a serie of batch and send all again.
Other: Don't resubmit at all

Notice: Only try a second time. When see that some image refused by second time and it sells on other agency i try one last time claiming that fact. No warning so far, except first editorial photos for SS, that probally I re-submit them 5 or 6 times until show that my caption was as  many other images online... Was a hard night 

Nope - they get one chance...if they don't accept it, it goes to a different agency...as do their customers 

If I strongly believe there wrong? Yes!!  and always with a note and I back it up with a note to admin.

I always resubmit everything that's rejected to all agencies, is, ss, dt, big,  (fotolia and 123 accepts everything I send them, veer most everything so no need with them) It's just part of my system I have set up.  SS especially because for me they have been the least consistent. I resubmit quite a bit later, usually a few months at least. One time I got a warning from IS. I even do this with Getty / Flickr. Have had many images selected the second time around, even with Getty / Flickr.

Thanks for the input! I'll start resubmiting then. I get frustrated when SS rejects files and then they became best sellers on other agencies since right now SS is the agency that sells my images the most.

when I started I got the exact feeling, agencies not keeping up with SS but hey they go up with time, nothing like SS but it is worth, you have a great start (gorgeous pictures) and you have also the gear to build a nice portfolio, wish you luck

Never.  My time is too valuable for me to duplicate efforts.  If a particular site doesn't want it, fine.  Another site will, and I move on to the next project.

Nope, except on IStock when it is a "can resubmit" file.

When I feel really strongly about it I write to them and ask them to reconsider, often with positive results.

Yes, me too.  I have to say I don't get a lot of rejections (acceptance is about 90% plus, on all sites these days).  My best advice to the OP, if they get a lot of them, is to really take notice of the rejection reason, and try to learn from it.  (Not on FT, obviously.  It's impossible to learn from their 'possible rejection list', IMO).

On Shutterstock, if I feel I have a lot invested in that particular image, I'll look at the rejection reason, correct if I can, then resubmit with a note to the reviewer with the reason it was rejected and what I've done to improve it.  I don't think I've ever been rejected twice by following that procedure.

Rarely except for "admin" rejections (forgot check box for illustration, point out that model release not needed for 3D figure etc) unless there's a really obvious flaw easily corrected.

I used to but only do it now with a note as they recommend, and only on certain images.  The frustrating part is the time and money spent on shoots, then they reject for LCV or some other reason.  You have essentially wasted your time (when said images never find their way onto a site) and money (prop expenses, model expenses, beer).

Those are the ones that bother me the most. Having an image selling alright on another agency and then having it rejected on SS for LCV.

No resubmit, yes they know similar or identical resubmit. DT will know SS will close you.

Haven't you received a warning?? Some users do 
I just wonder how the revs do know when you are submitting rejected images....

SS will actually suspend your account if you do it too often. I'd always do so with a note to the reviewer that it's a resubmission. Just be honest about it and let them know that you feel strongly about the image and would like it to get a second look.

Now i'll only re-submit those accepted and with at least 1/2 sales on others agencies ( for LCV rejections ), with a note for reviewers.

A image being "just accepted" by some agency, doesn't means that its good for all others.
