Title: Don't shoot the messenger
Post by: MetaStocker on December 11, 2012, 06:57
I'm once again called a TROLL in this forum by the crowd of do-gooders shocked to realize iStock and the whole microstock industry entered a downward spiral that will soon leave you guys grilling burgers at McDonalds.

It's 3 or 4 yrs i'm pointing out that this would have been the obvious conclusion and that the only way out was to stick to RM but you guys were always so positive and full of hope like children with rosy glasses, sure to have found the new gold mine and that it would have last forever.

Now you're all pants down crying out about falling sales and all you can tell me is i'm a known troll and agent provocateur, banning me and telling me to F off.

Hahaha, you're just all patethic and you deserve to be scammed by Getty and their other cronies.
You reap what you sow and i'm the one having the last laugh.

Farewell.

Farewell. What will your new name be when you come back in a few days?

No, no new names, now i'm just tired, game over.

And by the way, it's depressing to notice there are stockers fully agreeing with me but they only do it via private messages as if they were scared to do it in public for whatever silly and coward reason.

F off.... ( your expected words/response).Micro will not disappear... and when the world economics will improve companies will be way more cautious with their marketing money. Way less designers are using now macro or RM compared with 6-8 years ago. the flow of fresh images  is normal/increasing... only the source has changed.

P.S. my sales are up up up  every month..... so..... i quote your expected words/response once again.

regards,

Nik

im not scared, i will do it in public. i agree with your general message that as long as contributors put up with crap, they are going to get treated like crap. and i agree that getty/istock is ripping off their contributors big time. i showed my discontent by walking, and so did many others.

i dont agree with your statement about women in management, tho, and getty/istock was in the toilet long before rr stepped in. in fact, im guessing she is still being told what to do by a man. as far as women have come, in my personal experience, its still a mans world. until that truly changes, yeah, women arent going to be good in management, but not because of their own lack of skill, talent and experience.

edit...and i too believe there will always be a market for microstock. as long as it can weather the bullies of the world (getty).

I wouldn't try that line on Karren Brady

You didn't get any more male-centric companies than UK soccer teams in the 1990s.

I'll be the first to admit that the idea of RM becomes more and more attractive each time I see a royalty of 30 cents for an XL sale.  I'm familiar with how RM works, but only with a cursory knowledge.  After the rights have been exhausted for a particular photograph - then what?  I'd be very interested in knowing more about your personal experience with RF versus RM.

I don't remember anyone calling you a troll for the reasons you state here.  I only noticed the 'troll' word used in response to the way you view and speak about women.

But anyway... good luck to you and farewell.

Please don't come back here under another name, I don't want to have to click the ignore button again :)  And I wish the ignore worked on quotes.

A troll is not someone who has a different opinion.
A troll is someone with a certain behaviour on the net.

I have once shot a carrier pidgeon, so I have litterally shot a messenger.

+ dont take the net too seriously, people do say strange things.

Why is it these D_bags always have to make these big self-indulgent exit announcements, complete with vitriol and accusations of persecution randomly splattered everywhere?  Why don't they just slink off back under their rocks?  What pathetic delusions of grandeur.  ROFL.

We get it, you're taking your marbles and going home.  Buh Bye.  Don't let the door hit you on the way out, etc.

See you tomorrow or next week under your new screen name.  May I suggest that Awesome Best Super Stocker would be the next evolutionary step up from Meta Stocker?

PS - I see your account hasn't gone inactive.  That really is a crucial step in any legitimate temper-tantrum fueled exit.  Otherwise how are we to take you seriously?  ;D

Ow boy, saying you are not a troll but post something only a troll would post is just too funny.

Quote
In Internet slang, a troll (play /ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is someone who posts inflammatory,[1] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as a forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[2] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion

Farewell. What will your new name be when you come back in a few days?

Considering this type of character, it is not a question under which alias he is coming back, but under which alias(es) he is still posting....  ;)
