Hello,

I have a customer who wants a custom size print of one of my images, 15x48 inch, and wants it in 3-5 days. Location California.

I have never done this before, but I dont have the time to order in Ireland, check the quality and then ship it to the USA. So I need to order straight of the printer and have it sent to the customer without seeing the image.

Not sure if I even need to get into this deal, but its potentially good money, around 200$.

Any advice or printers are welcome. Thank you.

I would recommend White House Custom Colour http://www.whcc.com/

I have not had a lot printed there, but want I have had done has been excellent.  I have seen it recommended many times also.  Not in California however.

White House Custom Colour is good. I have it integrated with my Photodeck site, not had any order yet but they printed free sample and it looks great. They are in Texas but shipping any where in the US takes the same time with next day or two-day shipping.

Been talking to WHCC on email, I need to wait for their test prints etc, before I can open my account, so thats not going to work. I am thinking of ordering through FAA and just discount the buyer. Win win.

Thanks anyway, I will set up my account with WHCC for future business.

Thanks

Richard Photo Lab in Los Angeles is the place which continually gets talked about.

Or maybe Zazzle? not sure about quality ( I do sell lot of print there though but never seen one myself), but it's definitely cheaper, and it's in California.

I've used Bay Photo in California. I had some work printed on metal for a gallery show there last year and it was beautiful. I ended up selling additional work as a result to a corporate buyer and had the prints made there as well. They were shipped to NY quickly so shipping in CA should be easy.

I believe they can ship it straight to the client with an invoice that doesn't show your cost and they do frames as well.

I use Millers most of the time and they only charge $6 for shipping to a client overnight anywhere in the US but you need to be accepted as a pro there and I believe that takes time. Their printing is beautiful. They are somewhere in the midwest but ship all over the US.

I'd second Bay Photo. I've used them quite a bit. They can do totally custom sizes, ship fast, packaging is great, prints are high quality, and they're in California. And they have a drop ship option so the package has no mention of Bay, pricing, or any other stuff you don't want the client to see. Anytime I've used customer service it has also been great.

I've also used Adoramapix and BWC Printing with good results but I don't think either is based out of CA.

I just got some WHCC samples to try them with my Photodeck site but haven't ordered anything yet. The prints look great though. Especially the metallic ones.

I've used WHCC for a number of years and they are very good. Definitely worth setting up for the future. They're quick (for the things that I've ordered, including large photo prints and press printed books). Color is spot on (I'm assuming you're in a color managed workflow and everything is profiled).

No no  no Zazzle.  They don't even print in house do they?  I've rec'd postcards from them and was not impressed at all.  WHCC YES!  Haven't used Millers but fab reputation.
