What we prayed for...happened!
Twitter : "DPC today closes permanently. Join us on @AdobeStock for more beautiful images and creative content! Thanks for being part of the journey."
Letter from DPC :
Dear Dollar Photo Club Member,
After a fantastic couple of years, we are writing to let you know that Dollar Photo Club will terminate its service on April 15th, 2016.
But there's good news!
You are able to transfer your unused downloads to Adobe Stock, valid for a year, absolutely free.

Great news. And something to keep in mind when people say "there's nothing we can do."

So true we can change the whole market if we are united. ;)

Good news! Thank you Adobe and Fotolia for doing what you announced! :D

I'm not sure it's "us" who did it. If Adobe hadn't acquired Fotolia, DPC would be alive and kicking, regardless of what "we" say. Probably.
But anyway, good news.

Smart move by Adobe. Glad to see DPC perish.

Yes, we like to think we have control, but in reality, the decision most probably had to do with $$$. But yes, a victory none-the-less.

It is great news, but I don't think we can honestly say that anyone here had anything to do with the closing. This was all about the Adobe deal and the fact that DPC doesn't fit in with Adobe's business plan. That's all.

Good riddance, DPC!
"After a fantastic couple of years..."
Has it been years already? Seems like yesterday.

We know this is a big lie. Otherwise why close it? Does getting rid of DPC get rid of "the Chad" along with it?

Good to see it gone, whatever the reason.
Is it overly optimistic to think maybe Adobe wants to elevate this business instead of contributing to the race to the bottom? Would be great if this is part of a larger strategy of getting reasonable returns for quality images.

Hurrah!! Let that be a lesson to the contributors that they do have the power to change things
and a lesson to the agencies to stop screwing contributors over!

So, no more $30 ELs? ;)

Next they will take credit for this change.
Starting on Tuesday March 15th 2016, Bigstock will no longer require contributors to include titles for your uploaded photos, vectors, and illustrations. We will continue to require a description with a minimum of seven words and a 255-character maximum limit. We also will be removing sub-categories and will ask you to select just two categories for your images. We hope these changes make your submission process easier in addition to letting customers find your images faster.
Agencies don't change because of petitions, protests or what's on this forum.
