Looking at some old accounts and agencies to which I haven't uploaded in months or years. Is anyone doing anything worthwhile at any of these that would make me want to start uploading again? Why or why not. Would like to find something to replace the bus fare I am earning from iStock.

Thanks in advance for any and all feedback.

strictly from my sales I would pick the following from your list:

Veer
Yay Micro

once in a while I get a $35 EL out of Veer- that will cover your monthly bus fare...

Interesting timing for this question as I have been considering exactly the same thing today and was getting ready to post a similar question.  Hope you don't mind my tacking on to your thread.  Of your list, I agree with the others that you should reconstitute Veer.

I currently use Alamy, BS, DP, DT, GL, IS, SS, Veer and 123.  Based on many rather negative comments on MSG about Fotolia, even though they're ranked in the top tier I'll likely not waste time with them.  Of the remaining agencies, which 2 or 3 would you recommend I look into?  How is Canstockphoto to work with?  Strictly photographs, no illustrations, audio or video.

Thanks

Veer, Cutcaster, Yay -  OK (ish)

Crestock would be the first casualty!

That's my experience - Oldhand

They are low earner, but their upload is the easiest around and submitting as well. Review times and live to site at the moment under one hour. If you have good photos and lots, you can get a nice few extra bucks.

Veer has pretty decent sales still and YAY has some OK sales as well, although still a bit slow.  I like YAY becuase of the way they run their site.  They give 50% to the photographer, have a great referral program and let you opt out of all the partner programs on a per site basis.  They also are very clear on how much each partner program earns.  I was a big fan of crestock earlier but my earnings report paints a dire picture.  They were never that good but now it is downright disastrous.  Earnings levels are back to 2007  :'(   They were purchased by Masterfile a while back but it doesn't look like they have invested much in the site (if anything at all)

Only one of those where I make any money is Veer.  And they have had a terrible slump in December.  The only other two on your list that I am on are Pixmac and Crestock, both of which are nearly dead.

Thanks all for the feedback. Looks like I start with Veer. Looking back I only uploaded 10 there so no surprise nothing sold.

No problem W7. What is GL like? I see them in the low earners list, but I've never heard of them.

Thanks.  Yeah GL, for me at least, is a pretty slow earner.  Although in truth I don't have all that many images up yet.  Very easy to upload, but don't submit anything with text.  There are other threads here on MSG indicating that they prefer vectors and illustrations over photographs.  Personally I can't verify that as I only upload photographs except, as I mentioned, my sales have been slow.

Poncke - thanks for the comment on CanStock.  Turns out I was with them back in 2007.  I just couldn't remember if I was with them or Crestock.  Couldn't recall which one was CS.  LOL  Old age catching up with me.  Anyway, I dropped them after a few months due to very slow sales ... and my crappy images at the time (look back six years and see what you think of your stuff back then).  And *, I still had money in my account after all this time.  That's was encouraging so I reopened my account and uploaded some new images as a test.  We'll see how it goes this time around.

Canstock would be a definite for me, fluctuate a bit but usually 5-10% of my monthly take.
I suspect Veer favour new images (but havent looked into it a lot) my sales have halved last 6 months they also have weekly upload limit. Dune / Envato can be alright too (especially at first with new image bump).
Not sure where you are, but if you are not in the US 3dstudio want an itin? number.
Panther income dropped after they brought in the new upload system and added millions of images :(
personally I wont use  pixmac due to past history.

really depends on how much you make overall, most of them are in the 1-2% of total earnings category, is an extra 1-2% of your earnings worth the work involved?

Veers only. They are backed by Corbis so its a pretty safe bet.

Out of this list I would definitely upload to Veer, Featurepics and Panther. My experience is that Veer does fairly well but its a bit start and stop. FP and Panther are ok but slow. I don't upload to Yay but it sounds like I should....

Look at PM on the left, they used to be middle tier. I think PM is not a good choice considering their tedious upload process and silly rejections and sloooooow sales. Its not worth the time and effort. Just my two cents. If they were easy like CanStockPhoto and 123 I wouldnt mind, but its just too time consuming to submit there.

Yeah, that's the question, isn't it. I'm actually looking for something I can grow to 5-10%. First week of the year is over and they are at less than 1%, and are one of the most troublesome to upload to. At one point iStock was 15% of my total.   I  don't expect any of the sites we are talking about to grab that, but if I could get 3 @ 5% it might be.

I continue to be amazed at how much work some of these sights want you to do to upload. Especially when titles, descriptions and keywords are already done.

Ok, so I uploaded the last 40 that were accepted by Shutterstock to Veer and they were 100% rejected. Guess that's not the place for me.

When I started at Veer I did the same, my best photos, at that time, approved by Shutterstock, and didnt make it through their initial admission. So I never bothered with them.
