While doing my monthly earnings calculation, I decided to test my Excel skills to work out a quarterly view of earnings per online file at the main agencies I submit to. I went back to 2011 and have plotted the results in my blog post. As you might expect, mid 2011/early 2012 were the "golden years" for me - earnings over 70c per online image per month, but then an uneven decline ever since down to my current level of 42c. February and March were actually a reverse of this trend, but it is far too early to be sure if that is just a flash in the pan. Of course I could go and delete my poor images and improve this number, but as most of us know, we never really know which images are going to sell although we hopefully get better at that over the years.

2012: $0.59/month
2013: $0.44/month
2014: $0.39/month
2015: $0.37/month
2016: $0.37/month
2017 (jan-march): $0.30/month
The numbers aren't 100% accurate as I started producing videos in 2016 and I didn't exclude them from the stats. So in reality, 2016 and 2017 would be even lower numbers. Sad trend, I wonder how much lower it can get.

Yes, I've got a few videos in there as well, but not enough to make a really big difference to the numbers. I guess I ought to separate them out from 2017 onwards.

I think the reversal could be because of IStock's current screwy reporting if you have included it. Weren't they reporting some bigger sales from previous months under the wrong months?

Yes, I have started counting my iStock revenue as the money that was paid out in that month from this year onwards. That is much easier than trying to estimate a number and waiting until 20th to correct it. It will be interesting to see what happens on 20th of April and whether the trend continues.

From your Blog post: "As I mentioned a week or so back, Microstockr Pro now shows you the images that sold day by day on iStock once they have released the sales stats on the 20th of each month, so it is great for seeing what sold in detail."
I have Microstockr Pro ... where you get ESP earnings report for march? I can not see what sold in detail too. Hmmm :)

I have Microstockr Pro ... where you get ESP earnings report for march? I can not see what sold in detail too. Hmmm :)
I thought I was reasonable clear - the second part of the sentence says "once they have released the sales stats on the 20th of each month. " So the March stats will be available on the 20th April.
