Yeah, the total flexibility of it is the best part.

Truth above.  I have a little studio set up at my house and I shoot when I have time. I can shoot in my chonies if I want, but the reality is it's fun when I think it's fun.  When it isn't fun, I don't shoot because it isn't fun.  These days I shoot at my own pulse and if I come up with a good stock idea I might decide to give it a try, not because I will make 28 cents but because I like the challenge...the lighting, the composition, the staging....all that stuff is fun and sometimes frustrating at the same time.  I like the challenge.

Everyone needs to stop complaining, stop shooting and get a real job. Newbies, nothing to see here, move on and just take photos for fun

I like the idea of not having to deal with clients and freedom to design what I feel like. If only it was a bit more profitable!

Never done wedding photography. Why would you say it is stressful?

The fact is making money in what can loosely be called "the arts" is mostly very tough and competitive....for short time microstock allowed people to make reasonable money shooting more or less what they pleased when they felt like it. That was never going to last and even now you can still make a few $$$s without working very hard. Things like wedding photography are infinitely more stressful.
I hated wedding shooting. Loved shooting other events though. I worked for a company that assigned memory cards at the start and collected them at the end, it certainly made you a quick study if you wanted a second gig. :)
It involves people ;-). Get it wrong on their big day and you are in a whole heap of trouble and your business will be toast....

Same as here, get it right and people will still find something to complain about. Some people are always finding fault and complaining, they are whiners not winners. Weddings want the cheapest price for the photos and expect top professional services and quality. Just like micro?
