Everywhere I read about people getting EL's. I'm around since December on 6 sites with 300-500 pictures and I haven't had any.

I'm just curious about you people, do you get often EL's, is it the same on all sites or are you also waiting for your first one?

Online since July... almost 150 photos: 2 EL at shutterstock, 2-3 at Fotolia, 1-2 at IS.
Nothing special I think.
Regards

I've had one on DT and one on FT.  The photo on DT has only sold one other time there so getting an EL is quite a reward.  At DT you get a nice chunk of cash too - $25.  I was still under 100 sales at FT and only got I think $6.60.  Haven't sold any since I hit 100.

Both of the EL's were likely used for educational brochures perhaps.  They were model released student in a classroom setting.  I'm making a very uneducated guess here, but I think that the more specific the photos to a certain industry or category, the better the chance of an EL.

I'm afraid we all likely sell dozens of photos that SHOULD have EL's, but aren't purchased accordingly.

I have had about 5 ELs on SS (where I have 160 imgs, mostly illustrations), and a couple on other sites. The ELs are never of my most popular images or those which, IMO, are my best.

My latest EL is of a very simple vector, one of the very first I did, over a year ago.

How much is an EL worth on SS?  Does the new raise effect the price at all?

I don't believe so. EL's get you $20 on Shutterstock.

I have had two EL's from Fotolia and one from Shutterstock.

Several at FT (averaging nearly one per month), one at FP (response to a request), none elsewhere.

It is counted as a regular download. On the page that shows you what images have been downloaded for a certain day, it comes up on there but it says in bold red "Enhanced License Sale".

It is a nice bonus that is for sure. I suppose I am lucky to have gotten one after only being at Shutterstock for 20 days, with less than 100 images online at the time. (And the one that got the EL is horrible, but whatever  ;) )

My only 2 EL's came from sites not yet mentioned in this thread: BigStock and LuckyOliver.

I've been doing this for two years and got my first EL on Istock last week. (which was pretty cool.)

Got anywhere from over 500 to 100+ pics on various sites.

I think it's just luck (the harder I work, the luckier I get) that the designer has found that "particular" shot that just suits their need, and they are honest enough to purchase it through one site instead of going to each site and paying the minimal (to get the extra print run)

Just keep on working hard, improving, learning, have fun and anything is possible!

PenelopeB!  Look how hard you've been working even while you were in the hospital!  Congrats on the EL.  Hope you have a speedy recovery.

Thanks Pixart!

I wanted to take my camera to the hospital, but I was too sick and am still not allowed to lift anything over 10 lbs. (dam those big lenses).

I've been dragging my lowpro slingshot all over the house cause I can't pick the darn thing up.

Heheh
