"We wanted to let you know that we've received our partner sales reports, and will be processing them and issuing sales notifications later today. We also want to use this opportunity to let you know about a change that you'll see in your sales reports from now on.

Since the start, we made the decision to subsidize any photos that were sold through third-party partners for less than $2. We did this from our belief that your work should be compensated fairly. Starting this month, we will no longer subsidize partner sales (sales of images on partnering photo platforms). This means that some of you will see sales under $1. As our sales through Getty and other partners increase, stopping subsidies is the only sustainable way to continue licensing through third parties.

We continue to see this as an equal partnership and are committed to always pay you 50% of all revenues from your image sales. Our team's main focus has been to improve your opportunities on EyeEm Market, where we are able to control the prices and guarantee fair compensation. Our Market is growing at a very healthy pace, and as it grows, so will your sales.

As always, we are grateful and proud to be working with such a unique creative community. Please don't hesitate to write us if you have any questions or concerns."

I didn't know they were subsidizing things, but the problem is really on the end that provides the cheap sales - i.e. Getty

The bulk of my EyeEm sales have netted me small amounts - $1.50 or $3.65 (where that is my share, so I assume the sale was $3 or $7.30). The good news is that won't change?? Or possibly I'll just be seeing lower priced sales in general in the future?

(a) I believe all of my EyEm sales have been through the Getty partnership; and
(b) it's been a lot time since I got a royalty over $10 from a sale there - exactly a year ago today, a $52.50 royalty

I didn't yet receive email from them, but I'm sure it'll arrive shortly - yea for sustainable good news...not

Subsidizing? First news, anyway, today I got several sales, some as low as $0,22  :-\

Instead of that, why don't they just throw a bottom limit for sale price (or $ returned to them) by the "partner" sites?

If this is not a typo, then I declare myself stupid to understand simple things: "As our sales through Getty and other partners increase..."

To be fair, they didn't start it with "great news" haha.
Also, I got 2 eyeem sales, 1 for $1.29 and *drum roll* 09c. oh dear. they rolled that out quickly.

So bizarre I was looking at the number of iPhone images of mine that have been licensed lately and thinking I should check in here and see how folks are doing with EyeEm... well, my last Stockimo license was $25 to me and I have a couple believe it or not as "exclusive" on DT (from my old iPhone 4S) that they license frequently enough that it's added up to real $$$, so I was just thinking it would be simple enough to put the non-exclusives elsewhere too, but clearly EyeEm isn't that somewhere.

They must have sent me the "great news" telepathically LOL only I missed the rest of the message.

Interesting to see how the top and middle tiers have changed since I last popped in.

Anyhow, hope all those in the US have a lovely holiday weekend (and those in tornado-ravaged areas hope you and your homes are all safe!) and the rest of you all have a lovely weekend as well. Lovely days here in the 70's have had me dreaming of summer. It was a very long winter ... eager to get back outside with my camera.

I am glad they finally admitted they were gifting us money. It used to be 5 dollars, even if the sale was just a few cents.

I wonder how much of my income came from the eyeem investors instead of Getty.

I hope they work more on their direct sales, those are much higher. Some artists seem to be really good with direct sales, my portfolio not so much. :(

But since eyeem is non exclusive and my average royalty is still higher than elsewhere, it is fine for now.

A friend of mine with 100 sales last month had an average around 4 dollars.

If I have a bunch of iPhone photos that I could upload easily enough, would you say that despite low prices, it's still worth a try?

I always seem to join up too late.  :-\

Why not?

But your iphone is just a camera...the picture still has to be interesting for  a customer.

Most of my pics there are not from the iphone.

Talking about EyeEm, have you ever had a picture "selected for partner" not actually being added to the partner collection? I have some selected like half a year ago and still not in "partner"

Sustainable, ha. If they had to subsidize low-priced sales, then maybe there's something wrong with their business model. They shouldn't sell it through partner sites like Getty, let alone stimulate an increase in partner sales.

Glad I don't contribute to EyeEm.

Yes, a lot. I had pictures "selected for partner" more than 3 years ago and still no added. I've sent several emails to the EyeEm assistance, but despite their assurances, nothing has changed, so I deleted the photos and posted them again, it worked, they were selected again and finally (some of those pics, not all of them) added.

Thanks. Guess I'm gonna do that for pictures more than 6 months old in "selected"
