For those who are with these two agencies, have you had sales? If yes, how long are you with them?

I have also a question about eyeem, i have a port of 120 pics, all selected for the premium, if 120 photos are selected for the premium collection (getty), will they all be automatically accepted by Getty? Could getty decide to refuse some? I started recently and so far, I can see 25 of my pictures on the Getty website ...

thanks!

twenty20 is a let down for me.i ve been with them    since 2014 but only managed to sell an illustration i did 8 times.that was something.they host different challenges for 20 to 40 bucks the big price lol but i feel that people vote for each other and so dont expect to win anytime soon.for 20 bucks i really dont care :-X
eyyem is a very good alternative for me apart from some annoying rejections without any reason.the only downside is the no use of watermark in the pics.and there is always a chance your pics might get stolen.but i like that they are paying more than the 25 p you will get in ss .as for the premium.the pics that are selected for premioum that means that eyeem show  them   to getty and other sites like adobe but mostly getty and then they go for another review and so if getty accepts the image you get the congrats mail your pic is on getty .or if it gets rejected your pic stays in the market which you only get 2 dollars for each sale or 5 dollars i am not sure
also is the wait period. if your pic is selected for premioum you might wait for months till your pic reviewed by getty.i had a pic selected to getty for sale afer 1 year i posted to eyeem

I have no answer to your question, but what percentage would you end up with out of the Getty sale? Is it really worth bothering about being there via an extra middleman?

Im on both, i get between 15-40$ on 20Twenty monthly, portfolio of 950 images.

Eyeem 730 fotos / 260 premium / 90 of those on Getty, had two big sales via getty 55$ + and few 2$ , one sale on eyeem market 15$

Id rather work with these agencies, then with the shady Deposit or 123rf

hey thanks for the info. So, if getty reject a picture, is this eyeem going to delete "selected for premium" and replace with "to the market"?

I've had 7 sales with Eyeem totaling $20.02 with 27 photos. I only gave my "lower" end images due to the watermark issue.

I'm on both. Had a very good month with twenty20 had sales almost everyday and at times 6 per day. I've been with Eyeem since inception, you wait long for your images to go through to Getty where most of the sales comes from

Im on EyeEm with a small portfolio, the pros are the sales (ive never sold a picture under 2 dollars, and i usually sell for more than 10 dollars) the cons are the review time (when your pic has been selected for premium may stay under "selected" for months before becoming "premium" and Live on Getty images

At Eyeem  I have about 100 images selected for premium collection, with aprox 25 of them in premium collection at Getty. The last year 3 sells only all via Getty. I dont expect any sells from Eyeem it self, only from partners.

After some time (two month or so) I delete all non premium collection images. I allso seel via Istock and I'm not sure if I get petter pay via Eyeem for Getty sells compared viith Istocks Getty sells.

There are no minum limits for pay out.

Been on both for about a year, EyeEm is much better as you have the chance of higher price sales.

This last month I made $96 on EyeEm (18 sales) and $16 on Twenty20.

Portfolio is around 400-500 images on both.

I just pulled out of Getty (RM macro) after many years. They still make some big sales but there are plenty of negatives that go with having your photos there.

I'm on both.  I've never sold anything on EyeEm.  I've made $24 on Twenty20 in 680 days with a port of 255.  So, not a huge money maker  ;)  I like having a place to experiment, though.  I also like the contests because they help me see how I compare with the competition and how I can up my game.

I like twenty20 because it is self publishing and they have a watermark. I have around 700 images there and sell at least something every month. I make around 20 dollars a month, sometimes more, sometimes less.

They have lovely galleries to look at and it is one of the places I recommend for beginners.

On eyeem I have 3000 files, with 2100 in premium. I make on average 200 dollars a month.

95% of the sales are from getty.

Because the watermark is missing, it limits what I feel comfortable giving them.

On twenty20 I cannot upload my releases, so I add that I have model release in the description field.

Both places are not really agencies, especially eyeem is first of all a photo community and since we cannot sort our portfolios, it is not very buyer friendly. The agency part is just an add on.

Twenty20 has much better quality pictures, it has a watermark and that makes a real difference.

On both places you can offer files that no other agency will take.

But I really dont consider them to be true agencies, too much is missing in tools for both buyers abd contributors. Twenty20 doesnt seem to have inspections, the place is full of images with logos and no releases.

On eyeem files are inspected before they go up for sale, but it might take a very long time, even months. And then you have to wait again for premium files to move to Getty.

On Getty the files are given new keywording and descriptions, which can be completly wrong and they dont add any localized keywords or mention the area, even if you have added it.

I have had snow scenes and the desert of Wadi Rum in Jordan  described as on the beach, cut Berlin sausages described as pieces of bread etc...

So, both sell files, both take and sell images with strong filter effects etc...that other places dont take, but for me they are mostly fun photo communities.

I really dont see them as professional agencies and all I hear from them is that they are not interested in being real agencies.

But the places are fun.

Do you enter in Twenty20 or Eyeem in the "clickfest game": like, comment, follow...? Is it worth?

The eyeem sales come from getty, so whatever you like on eyeem has no influence on sales.

On twenty it might increase visibility, especially if you win challenges etc....because the customers are on the plattform as well.

But I usually dont click much, unless I really like it.

That's what I read on blogs too, with eyeem, you do not have to click or be followed or follow peoples, because your sales, if they're accepted by Getty, will come mainly from Getty. .

Twenty20, thanks for the info, I'll be a little more active on this site ;-)

And thank you for all the info you gave, it's really interesting ... $ 200 / month, it's really not bad!

Why not upload directly on Getty? Why go through a middle man and lose money?

Why not upload directly on Getty? Why go through a middle man and lose money?

The biggest disadvantage with Getty is that the contract is exclusive. That means anything you sell on Getty cannot be sold anywhere else. So all your eggs are in their basket with those images. If you pass by eyeem, you will get a cut of 50% for sure, but the exclusivity thing is not applicable... btw, i just do a test, i will see.

I don't upload to Getty but I closed my Eyeem account when I realised that they are uploading to Alamy. I upload to Alamy directly. I didn't want Eyeem to sell my photos there and to get half of the amount of money I get when selling directly.

Alamy? I did not see that they have a partnership with Alamy ... I only receive emails from Eyeem regarding Getty only.

I sell a mix of everything. People, flowers, food, travel and some really bizzarre mobile stock images that nobody else will take.

Typical stock images, i.e. superperfect soft lighting, pointing into the air, supermodels smiling at salad...doesnˋt sell for me.

You can have a look in the app under "recently sold" what sells...
