I have heard that East Sierra is very popular among photographers at this time of the year. I am going there with couple friends for a weekend. My friend was trying to book hotel in Lee Vining and they told him that everything is booked for photography workshops :-)

I was there this summer. It was quite spectacular. :) Here is an example of scenery from Twin Lakes, Bridgeport, CA. Have some other Sierra high desert photos uploaded at various agencies.

I was there, later, around Thanksgiving once. I hope it would not be as cold this time.

I was there a couple of years ago during the first week of November, and didn't have a problem finding lodging in Lee Vining. In fact, the town was practically empty. The trick? Go during the week.
