Title: FEATUREPICS IS CLOSING.

Another one bites the dust.  I received my first payout in 10 years from Featurepics.  I made a big $21.00.  They are closing shop and has disabled the uploading of new images.  The mim. was $10.00 that you could ask and receive, but they are willing to give you any amount you have.  That's better than some agencies.---Oscar Williams.


PS... Who will be next?

How do I request payout? (request earnings is not working).

EDIT: I completed the tax form, it is working now. Thanks for the reminder, I would have forgot about this.

That's too bad but not surprising.  I always liked them - 50% commission, no subs and ok prices.  Weird reviewing at times and low sales made me drop them from uploads quite a while ago though.  Have only made $2 since my last payout last year.  That site has been on autopilot for many years and I guess it will simplify the accounting a bit.  Who is next - 123rf?

Are they definitely closing. I don't see anything on their website.

I still don't see anything about Featurepics closing on Google.
Could you point me to where you saw the info.

If you go on "Your Portfolio", you can read :

FeaturePics Management thanks you for your support over the past several years. We have invested a lot of time over the years without significant money returns. We have decided to wind down FeaturePics to pursue other opportunities.

We understand that some of you have earned royalties in your FeaturePics account, and we intend to pay these. To make this possible we plan to continue to operate FeaturePics for the next four to six months on a limited basis so everybody has time to post payment requests.

We are not planning to accept new images during this time. When we close FeaturePics, the images and our multiple sets of backups that you have uploaded will be deleted as the final step.

Does that mean that files will keep be on sale during the 4, 6 months, and after the payment request?...  :-\

Thanks for the info, I have just requested pay out to be on the safe side. Never had a lot of sales there but at least didn't feel so insulted by the prices.

Just got my payout....well done to them. I was expecting it to drag out. :). Enough for a meal McDonalds rather than Michelin starred sadly.
