Title: Finally closed my Canstock account
Post by: Reckless on October 31, 2019, 17:37
I have always felt that I may as well stay with low earners just because my images are already on their sites but yesterday gave up on Canstock. They got tired of inspecting photos after ten or eleven years so started rejecting every photo I uploaded. Very frustrating and at the low sales rate I wont last long enough to receive a payout so I let them keep my 27 dollars.

I don’t understand this site
I had a few submissions that had really stupid rejections a couple years back and haven’t uploaded since - actually hoping they would resolve this issue and I would resume uploading, but still is an ongoing problem from what I read

I was uploading 9 or 10 each day to quite a few agencies with StockSubmitter and Canstock was on the list but they turned down every thing I sent. I got a total of 6 turned down on Adobe and 9 on Shutterstock out of 191 uploaded so far. I'm trying to hit 300 on Adobe before Dec 31 so everyone gets the new ones. :)  It is kind of nice to be working on photos again after a couple years dormant.

The microstock game has bastardized the creative incentive for any serious photographer.  .25cent images is a absolute insult to ones creativity.  The dog and pony show of the microstock companies is full of empty promises catering to the inexperienced photographer.  As for trademark protection of your prized images, forget it, almost like public domain now.  Why back many many moons ago (10-15 years) the average sale price for a high resolution image was about $190.00 -230.00 US

I think part of their business strategy is to accumulate frustrated contributors' earnings that give up. They took my $12 since I also felt like I would never reach a payout.

If the images actually sold regularly I wouldn't mind their weird rejections but they have the worst of both worlds: almost no sales and ridiculously tough QC.

Its a shame as not that long ago Canstock was one of the best of the smaller agencies with quick and fair reviews. At some point it all went horribly wrong. Not the first and won't be the last.

I left them leaving my 10$. For me almost useless site.

For me Canstock is still doing okay...vectors and animation mostly, maybe they're different when it comes to photos.
