Hi
I have a finepix s9500
If you are using Finepix s9500 have you had any of your images accepted by microstock agency's i have been told that my camera will be no good for this type of work because of noise. I have had my images rejected.

I used to have an s9100/9600. I didn't care for it for more reasons than I care to go over here. I was surprised to see noise even at ISO80 when enlarged to 100%.
You may be able to get images accepted at sites with relaxed technical requirements (SnapVillage or LuckOliver) but I think you'll struggle with a lot of post processing and still have high rejections at sites like Istock, ShutterStock, and Stockxpert.
If you plan on making money at this I would get a DSLR if I were you. If cost is an issue, dump the s9500 on Ebay and pick up a used DSLR (Nikon D50 or D40, Canon Rebel XT/350, Pentax K100/110, etc) for around $300US.
If you continue to try to build a portfolio with the s9500 I think you'll be wasting your time.

even a canon 10D would be good. Old and cheap.

I have the S9100. It's not so much the noise that's the issue but the horrendous amount of JPEG artifacts even at ISO 80 and shooting in RAW. By the time you get rid of the artifacts, the image has been reduced to an unacceptable quality.

I am right there with Leaf. Even an old 10D.
And for . of it, I bought an old police forensic camera - Nikon D1H at a police auction for $250AUS. You can get reasonable priced lenses for it as well.
