Title: Fotolia Speed
Post by: takestock on July 23, 2007, 15:39
Have you noticed an increase in the speed of the site?

Seems a lot faster today but the floating box still blocks forums.

Down here in Australia V2 is as slow if not slower than V1.  Keywording and categorising takes an absolute age and is very very tedious.

Having said that, my sales appear to be back at V1 levels and the average $/DL is about 50% higher given the new price structure.

It is, however, disappointing that V2 seems to represent little or no improvement on V1.

The site still seems slow - but more important, search is still unable to find many words.

I'm amazed that I'm selling anything at all given the state of search - it's been a couple a day most of the time, but today was 7, which is more like it was.

When a search for "blueprints" produces 0 results (to give but one example), even though the images are there, I'm not sure that speed matters much  :(

I have to admit it is a bit faster.

Your right jsnover - "blueprints" yields 0 in the seach but "blueprint" gets 771 results!?! I have searched for some of my recent uploads and they are coming up also. Is it just the older files that are affected?

EDIT - Ok, I just did a search for "chicken" and the results were 0 (not good  :( ).

I'll agree with hatman about it being slower in out part of the world.. (NZ for me).

Sometimes I click on the 'continue' button after an image and it can take 20-30 seconds to come up with the keyword window.

Sometimes the image list partially renders, although not as often as V1 did...

(Using firefox / linux on a DSL connection, for what it's worth)

Back to usual speed for me- not great unfortunately.
It seems no speed gain on the upgrade.

There's a lot more faster sites around, that's for sure.

I'm in IT and I just can believe that so long after the so-called upgrade search is still not working and the site is still experimenting glitches day after day.
I've seen a definite drop in sales and I'm no surprised at all about it.

Many report higher sales since upgrade... so I am not sure your expereince is enough to make any conclusions. Also, considering typical summer slowdown, it's hard to attribute someone's particular decrease in sales to one cause

Maybe those who keyword in another language but English may have a disadvantage, would be good to see what they say - anyone?
I keyworded so far in German and I have seen a tremendous drop in sales... .

I've always used the .com version of the site and keyworded in english, what makes me worry are the suspicious zero results searches.
Something must be wrong with the site engine.

Well... something is amiss. I went on holiday for 12 days, recorded my stats the day I left, and when I got back, even though I had made only 4.00+- in sales, my total credit figure had dropped below what it was when I left.

I emailed them last nite, got a "we got your email" response, but have yet to get any answer.

Keep an eye on you credit figures, looks like those darned bugs are eating away at our credits?
