Title: FOTOMIND
Post by: rinderart on May 31, 2008, 23:30
What . was I thinking. I assumed this was the new deal. I bailed out today and deleted my account. I've been with 25 sites since I came over from RM. How you guys do this stuff amazes me sometimes. This 30 cents a shot mentality is really waring thin. I've made more with mostphotos in a week than this site in 3 months.

Fotomind sales for me are improving every month.  It's nothing to write home about yet but Fotomind beat Crestock, Canstock, FeaturePics, and MostPhotos for me this month.  I have 475 images on Canstock and 750 on FP and MP so it's not like I'm not there.  FM outsells all of those PUT TOGETHER.

(My average FM sale is .70, not .30, so per sale it's higher than SS, FT subs and 123RF)

I went to have a look, first time been there.  I clicked 'most downloaded' and noticed quite a number of the list were your's Laurin. Doesn't say much for the site in light of your post.  One of those sites that may be better off not showing number of downloads :)

Do you even really need to submit to any of the micros? You've been in the business a long time. Is RM no longer a viable way to make a living?

I came over from RM. There was no community there. Theres quite a few that do VERY,VERY well. it's about the work. Don't ya think? I did pretty good at RM and way before RM was around and the internet. I like the fun and action of RF. I still have lots of friends that I meet with all the time that do RM. They still call me the prostitute..  LOL

Update on Fotomind. they wrote back and urged me to stay. At least they care. I'll stay awhile longer.  let ya know what happens. I still am banking on mostphotos. I like that site. very Democratic. It's everything i would do if I owned a site. Fingers crossed.

Hmmmm...I don't know.  I cannot get past their community ratings.  Too many snipers, and too many clueless "reviews."  Other than that, I liked their start.  A lot of us do (or did).  But a lot of us pulled out after being hit with sniper "1" ratings left and right, which drove our images down in the search.

If they get rid of the community ratings, I'll be back tomorrow.  Otherwise, I'll sit and watch for a while.
