Real newbie question here, but, how do you add the information (FTP?) to your photos?  This one by one key wording is killing me!

Thanks,

Connie,  "FTP" means 'File Transfer Protocol' which is a method for transferring files that's been around for decades, before the internet was around as we know it.  It is very reliable and well-known, so it's still the most practical way to move large files around. It is strictly for uploading and downloading files.

What I think you're referring to is EXIF and IPTC, which is the digital 'metadata' that can be stored inside various picture file formats. Along with technical picture data such as shutter speed, time and date, etc., you can also store keywords (which are the most relevant for photo agencies).

Here is a decent link with lots of programs and tools to use: http://tinyurl.com/yb8qfr

A member of this forum, FlemishDreams, has a cool tool here: http://www.flemishdreams.com/tag/

In the end, it's hard not to go 'one-by-one' as there's no substitute for carefully chosen keywords.  ;)

Cheers,
Keith
