I just started submitting to the big 5 + Alamy and I am going nuts trying to go back and forth between each site know what I've submitten, when, etc..  So I started an Excel file with a tab for each company and have my submissions listed, etc..

Does anyone have an easy alternative, or do you just not worry about it and not keep track.

Thanks,
Connie

I also use a spreadsheet.

One tab per type of subject - finance, flowers, etc

One image per row, one column per site.  In the crossing of these, yellow background for submitted images waiting for inspection, green is approved, red if rejected.  Number of sales on each.  Total sales for each image.

The only thing I miss tracking is $ per image in each site or at least in total.  Some images may have smaller total downloads, but an EL that largely compensate that.

Regards,
Adelaide

I don't us any file management software at all.

I name files according to their subject matter (e.g. trees12.jpg, jet294.jpg, skiing27.jpg, ...) and place files in folders named after the sites I upload to. Each of these site folders contains Next Upload, Uploaded, Rejected, Deleted, Online, and Model Releases subfolders, with shortcuts between them to make moving files easier. I use my Shutterstock folder as my "home folder" for creating new images and distribute copies to the other site folders from this one.

My portfolio is only at 2500 files and is easily manageable using this system. The only downside is the space it takes up - about 48GB total. I plan to implement something better this coming year, probably during the summer slowdown.

The biggest advantage of using this method is that it easily allows me to tailor image size according to each site's pricing structure.

I use a very basic system. 2 folders on the desktop. Stock Illustrations and Stock Photos. The files are just numbered in chronological order, 1,2,3,4,5,6... I don't keep track of what sites reject and accept. I don't keep track of what sells where and how much each file has made me. I do keep track of my earnings overall though, and I use google spreadsheets for that. (I can edit it from any computer, excel not required)

I don't have a very big portfolio though.
Only 2.5gb of illustrations and 450mb of photos.

I use a spreadsheet in excel.....   I track everything by site... files, number of sales and money.... the sheet is set up to do all the math in sales and it gives me a constant check/balance against the site.  My online folio is now in the 600's and I would much rather find a nice piece of software to handle it all for me... but as of yet, haven't found one suitable.... if you do.. let me know.    8)=tom

I downloaded the beta  ACDsee pro 2  for a try.........  and never got the time to play with it.  It was only good for 7 days.  I looked at it the 1st night,  it looked sexy... but, I never did get a chance to fool around with it before my test time expired....    I keep reading about adobe lightbox.... but I haven't run into anyone who has practical experience with it.... I don't mind dropping a few bucks if what I get will do the job.... for now....still looking ...... 8)=tom
