I am just a few $ short of payout on a site.

I was wondering if it would be worthwhile to "buy" one of my own images to push it past the payout point.

Do people buy their own images for any reason?

You better be careful. Some sites dont allow you to do that and may close your account. Shutterstock is one agency that doesnt allow it. If you want to do it, at least use a friend to buy the image with is own account, from his own PC with his own IP address.

It is really frowned upon by the agencies.  I think some have strict policy against it.  I have done it, though, but not to make payout. It was more about seeing what a buyer goes through, so why not use my own images.  I ended up opening buyer accounts at DT years ago and used them for many projects.

You would definitely be putting your account at risk by doing this. SS in particular has indicated that buying your own images is strictly forbidden and could result in account suspension.

I thought about it at 123RF, but I just wanted to get to my payout so I could close my account.
