i thoroughly enjoy coming to this forum to read some of the entries,
even MIZ crazy but novel self-promos  ;)

in observation, i also chuckle at how both newbies and "expertos"
haggle and banter over rejections and other topics.
but more so, the insight from constructive comments made by the real pros
in this game, who unselfishly part their experience with us.

this is my first thread, and i like to hear your comments about how never and not to take too many rejections seriously.
esp. the ones that the mass-killer reviewer who does not know how to write constructive criticisms so pushes the disposition code for "THIS IS A SNAPSHOT!".

why? because this far, i surprisingly  found out that these SNAPSHOTS
have now gained me my first sales in the business after four months.
and the site that has the employee of that disposition code has not given me any sales at all. the only site to date. the one that gave me the most rejections.

the moral to the story is obviously:
God is not a reviewer.  ;D

HAVE A LOVELY WEEKEND ALL... even you too...the mass rejection killer reviewer !!! ;D ;D ;D

I think that learning to roll with the punches is one of the hardest things to learn.

I guess the best thing to do is to realize that:

1) reveiwers are people, like you said, and even in something as precise as stock seems to be, there is still a great deal of subjectivity involved that will never go away, and....

b) no one site should be used to measure the viability of any image at another site - each site has different criteria and that's their prerogative as it is their business to run how they wish

last) no one has forced any of us to submit - we're "asking for it" when we do, and need to remember it IS a business and nothing personal when we are rejected.

3 good points, riffmax
esp. the final one... we ASKED to submit (bad pun)...
it is some kind of S&M psychosis to be a stock photog or illustrator  ;D ;D

fotoKmyst,
I could use an extra hand on my team....however your not sarcastic, or or arrogant enough yet at this point in time .
Given some time and practice you might improve in which case I would review your posts and threads.

I do wish to point out though all kidding aside that you do make an excellent point.

lo MIZ so glad to hear from you.

all kidding aside, i do pay a lot of attention to what you say on this forum, and i really get a great laugh each time to pull the legs from beneath the chairs of the commentors.

needless to say i am a big fan of your cynical humor.  ;)

Now, with all the pessimism we've been having lately at this forum, it's a breath of fresh air to read something like this.
I think some of us take things too seriously... me included, sometimes.

Just like to add one thing :   god is NOT a reviewer, because even
god rested  on the seventh day!   :-*

Reviewers don't rest, with the exception of DT who doesn't review on weekend days..:-)

Nice job, fotoKmyst!    Indeed,  WE asked THEM to look at OUR pix.  They didn't ask us.. just to turn them around and tell us they sucked.

Enjoyed your first, hope to see more.

BTW, if you can get a compliment out of the MIZ...  you really are doing well!! :D   I too enjoy MIZmania!!  It's the best!!   8)=tom

Me too.   I  imagine him sitting back in a chair with his feet up laughing his head off waiting for the reactions after making  a controversial statement.

I too enjoy MIZmania!!  It's the best!!   8)=tom

Rejection can also be a good thing   :o  I can't believe i said this  ;D
but seriously, it can.
Imagine my satisfaction to have 2 images rejected at the beginning ,
then upon submitted to 2 other sites to be accepted and both to register a sale .
It sort of instill in us a test of whether we have the faith and confidence in our own selective process.
It's like playing  poker, you call their bluff and win the game :-*
