As a general question do you think one might have success with this?

Regards my previous question I am talking negotiations as an individual not as a group.

I think Im going to try it but I wanted to see what folks thought.

They have altered the deal. Pray they do not alter it any further.

If you have something very special that the agencies don't already have lots of, you might be able to negotiate a deal.

Given the huge size of agencies' collections, I consider the likelihood of that situation very, very low.

I am guessing that anyone that manages to get a better deal will also have some sort of non disclosure clause so it will be like fight club - the first rule is you don't talk about it. I also agree with most of what has been said before - you need something special to get a special deal.

There was a time when the highest profile contributors could do this Yuri Acurs being the obvious example. I doubt its a thing in the current climate.

A special "exclusive" shot could probably be negotiated. Donald saved from
serious head injuries by his comb-over after tripping when getting out of his
limo, comes to mind.  8)

And his special deal has become iStock Exclusive, which tells us something?

Could be, but also could be, they don't negotiate deals, because there's no reason to make a deal?

Says it all...

Plus if I had something "very special" I wouldn't be selling microstock for peanuts and chump change.

I once successfully negotiated from a life-time ban on the SS Contributor Forum to just 30days.

I once successfully negotiated from a life-time ban on the SS Contributor Forum to just 30days.

That will never equal someone who not only got banned from iStock forums but they closed his account and disabled all his images. I'm confident that more than the couple I know for sure, who got banned from Fotolia for forum posts here? I mean, all images removed, accounts closed. How's that for a totalitarianism attitude.

Agencies don't negotiate and they know they don't need to. Unfortunately artists, and this is the historical situation, rarely get paid for their efforts.

Stock photos are a commodity, there's no leverage and no bargaining for better pay at this stage. The agencies won the race to the bottom.
