I remember a couple of months ago it had a score of 23.2 or something, taking the third place. Now the score isn't even listed. Can anyone explain what happened, as I didn't really follow the Symbio discussion thoroughly?

Self hosted covered everything anyone used to sell direct - PhotoShelter, Symbiostock, DIY, KTools, etc. - and  I think there had been someone encouraging everyone to post results that month.

If people don't post, the category drops...

Yeah, it didn't get enough votes to be listed. The number may still be high, but it needs 50 votes I believe to get a number on the charts.

So... (some) people paid for their domain name and hosting, went through all the trouble of setting up the site and then shut it down after a couple of months. It seems unlikely.

My guess is that the results aren't as good and that people don't report zero sales. But that seems strange, why do that?

I almost never post in any of the categories - and it's not because I have zero sales :) Voluntary polls are just that and you can't do more than get a general idea of what's up from looking at this one

But I guess other people are not like you.

The number of "self-hosted" contributors didn't fall. The number of ones reporting did.

I didn't report last three months because I got busy and haven't precisely tracked it yet. In general though my self hosted sales are trending upward each month. Also a lot of the self hosted discussion has moved elsewhere. Results are just below clipartof and stocksy so they are still probably fairly high.

I'm just reporting the facts as I know them. If you don't get 50 votes, it doesn't get listed. It could be 49 votes for all I know, and it is all Chromaco's fault.  ;)

But, I don't know why less people are voting.

I'll try to get my act together for next month and stop being such a slacker.  ;D

We very rarely post our results. Coincidentally in the mentioned months where self-hosted has shown a high score we did post. Since then I do not think we've done it.

Did we stop selling in channels we consider self-hosting? No. In fact, in these first two months of the year these channels are our 4th best earner.
