Just out curiosity how many of you are Graphic Designers?

By Graphic Designer I mean with paying clients not a hobby :-)

Thanks in advance.

Kind of a strange question for me because I don't fall squarely into these categories.    I have a degree saying I am qualified for Multimedia Design but I haven't got clients at this moment (I hope this changes in the near future) but I get them from time to time,  rarely though.  I mostly do the stock illustrations right now so I think I'll mark that box.

Good question

I could have answered better if you had a few more options.

Graphic designer, stock illustrator and stock photographer with clients

Advertising Agency, stock illustrator and stock photographer with clients

I picked 4, but I'm more of an illustrator that sometimes does graphic design.

I am. Have my own company. I like photography better now since I got into stock. I bought stock for years (still do) and one day wondered were the images came from.

In hindsight I should have simplified some of the answers to open up some more options. Interesting to see clients in here as well as stock contributors.

Graphic and web designer for 30 years. Stock Photography has spoiled me.  I hate (most) clients and don't budge on pricing with the branding work and don't take the crap I used to. Ya get jaded over the years. Life is so much better now.

I hear you. I used to do a lot more design work to pay the bills. Now, I rarely look at it and just take the illustration work that looks fun and easy. It is nice to be picky about what you want to do.

Not really sure WHAT to call myself! I do web design/coding full-time working for myself and include photography and video production services for my web clients. I produced 31 episodes of a local cooking show... blah, blah, blah.

It's all fun, though! I just don't have much time for stock anymore... too many clients.

In that case, I'm a writer.  ;D

I was a Web Designer for many years, sometimes pushed by client demands into the realms of graphic design.  So glad to have given up the world of clients (who thought every subsequent thing they asked for would be a 'simple tweak', or 'just a tiny change') in favour of stock photography.

I was  a Graphic Designer and Art Director for years I gave it up because I was not being challenged by the work and I didn't like modern business attitudes. I now make a small fraction of what I used to earn but I have freedom to do what I like. If I get bored I do something  arty or using a new technique. I turn down design work all the time because I am happy doing pretty pictures for microstock.

Another 30 year veteran here, freelance with clients. More difficult now to make a living from graphics as everyone wants cheap jobs, and the worst nightmare to befall us - spec work! Microstock to make extra cash without clients! Dream 1 - to not work for a boss, never have. Dream 2 - to not work for clients, still working on that one!

I guess I meant that I wear so many different hats that I'm not sure which label fits best.  ;D
