You can't use the trademarked company names at all if you are going to sell the image as RF. You could sell this image as editorial (but only a few sites might accept this since the most sites doesn't understand what "editorial" means)

Or you could remove all the names and logos and sell this as commercial (regular) RF.

So it doesn't help if I try to change some shape of the letters and modify them a little bit? The name Facebook is "taken" so to say? Regardless of its shape and font?

Shutterstock will give you soft reject just for having twitter in the keywords

If you can recognize it's Facebook, then it's Facebook

facebook is so well known and is a registered trademark etc. You have no chance of getting this accepted like this. As others have said to get it accepted you need to take the logos and words off.

I remember early on I had an photi that had a logo in it. I thought I could change it into some other shape that wasn't a logo of anything. But of course the inspector rejected it because how was he to know if it was actually a logo or not.

and iStock should remove brand names in the keywords for non-editorials, but it doesn't always happen (or people add them after inspection?).

If you just leave the colors and take out the words, people might get what you mean anyway. And the image might be more useful without words, as designers can customize the way they want.

Agreed, wasn't complaining, just saying there is no way this is going to get in. About the adding keywords after inspection thing on IS, I think there a few unscrupulous people that do that as a matter of course to tick irrelevant meanings and so on. Someone pretty much admitted they do it on an IS thread, I think they were complaining because the images had got copied over to TS with just the couple of keywords they put in to get it past inspection and before they had added the other 40+

Ok. Thanks guys for your feedback, you made it very clear how it works. Great to have this forum and so helpful people! I will upload it as editorial(cause thats ok right?) and then remove the words and logos, keep the colors and bars, then upload that version as RF.

They don't (yet?) accept vector editorials at iStock. Don't know about SS.

Im not doing vectors for the most part. My illustrations are rasters.

iStock won't accept them: check the editorial articles. We're not even meant to clone out bird poo on buildings.
Again, haven't a clue about SS or other agencies, but presumably this info will be available to contributors on all sites.
