Title: how to downsize a pix for noise?

Hello, wonder if someone can help me.

i almost neve have noise problems but i did ia shoot that would be hard to re~shoot and all pics have noise, not too much but enough to be concerned of rejection.

I understand you can downsize a pic to make noise less vissible.

but how can i do that?

I know in ps i can use immage / size.

To be more specific, how can i downsize a 12mp photo to say a 8mp?

any help is appreciated,

A forum user posted a Photoshop action for doing this, I think his name is laflor. I will see if I can find it.

thank you, very much but i have an loder p/s version (ps7) and it wont work, unless im doing something wrong.
i just have to figure out how to do it manually.

personally I find it more effective to clean the image up with topaz denoise or noise ninja at full size (making extra layer then brushing in brushing in via mask denoised copy) and then resize to pick the sharpness back up.

Yea, thanks thats what i eventualy did.

I deal very little with noise situations, so i dont want to mess around with or buy noise reduction soft wr.

sometimes it's useful to apply a bit of noise reduction - even without specialised software - to select parts of image (e.g. skies) BEFORE downsampling

the blur tool on a low opacity can be useful. or do a search for noise reduction in LAB, you put a blur on one of the colour channels? (I can really remember, but it's not too bad)
