SS same. Very good. AS less than December. Istock good according to approx number of downloads. BS better than before too. The rest very bad. Canva and DP the worst.

Surprisingly good.

Best month on Alamy with number of sales (4th best month with earnings)

SS with 80$ video sale + EL very good month too
FT best month in a year
Canva somewhere between bad and average

The rest as usual.

January was rainy, but sales are good. A 28% increase from the same time last year.

SS - lower than Dec but still decent
AS - my Dec was low, but Jan back up
IS - Dec was fantastic...keeping fingers crossed for Jan
DT - Up quite a bit over the normal
123RF - Up more than usual, but not an overall good earner
Alamy - I still have yet to have ONE sale from them.

Pretty lousy, and it would have been really bad without a few Alamy sales the 31st. Pretty much everywhere was below the average for last year and only a few were up from December. Usually Jan is a pretty good month for me but not this year.

DT and Canva were both about half of what they have been and 123RF is so far below what it used to be I might as well delete my port there.

SS was up on an absolutely horrible Dec, but not enough to make a decent month.

After Dec being the worst month for YEARS, Jan did surprisingly well. Not great but good.Couple decent SODs on SS rescued the day there and AL showed more life than it has for ages. Other sites barely worth mentioning though....all ever feebler.

I wonder if AL are doing something different - several of us report upswings there...?

Cold and snowy? Tractor broke down twice. Oh Microstock?

Pretty much as usual, although I did have a burst of downloads on SS, almost all subs, at the end of the month.

Best January since 2016 and that year has a $21 Single to put it higher. Last year was half of this year. I'd say Best January ever for me, but just by dollars over the rounded average of the last six years.

I guess SS is a thing of the past. Way down, like $400. Looking at the last 12 months it is now permanent.  It was very common for me making $800-$1000 a month, now I am at the $400-$600.  So nothing special with them.  Most others are flat. Pond5 was not too bad.  I had a big pic sale there, but the big ones are rare.  123 dismal. DT very dismal. Dp was better than average, almost $100 when I make $50-$60 a month.  I just did my tax prep and overall I was down only $500 from last year.

Cold and snowy? Tractor broke down twice.
And February has started even colder and more snowy!

My January was a bit better than December and more in line with previous years. In fact, it matched my January 2017 earnings, which sounds good until I remember that I added 2500 files during the year! Talk about lots of effort for no immediate reward!

Here is my complex graph of earnings in each month for the past 5 years. Overall, I'm still showing growth and I had some good video sales in January which definitely helped the monthly results, but it is still a hard old business!

Full discussion on the results are here: https://www.backyardsilver.com/2019/02/making-money-from-photography-january-2019/

By the way, I only mention the earnings posts on this forum normally. You can subscribe to my blog with your email address to get notifications of new posts - I do nothing at all with those email addresses!

Snowy January here and just two clips about it. Three or five Christmas related, no Valentine and a couple on Carnival masks. With an empty just starting portofio and common subject in only HD clips, no wonder why I got no sales :D :P

At last check, my January was $15,785.  But I still have to hear from iStock and Dissolve.  Together, both those should add about $2,000 to that total.

January, 2018 was $15,660, so I'm doing a bit better this year.

February is starting off kind of slow, however.  :(
