From his own web site: 'Andy envisions a world in which teleports will replace airports for "real time" transit between major transport hubs around the world, thereby making long-distance travel faster, easier, safer, and cheaper.'

It's a mixed blessing. There will be a lot of competition, especially for travel photographers.

But at least RyanAir won't try to charge me for extra luggage anymore.
