Title: Image Size Detection Software
Post by: RacePhoto on July 24, 2011, 22:07
Somehow I think this came up before and I'm having a senior moment. (or it's the Scotch and Sunday night?)

I have about five years of Micro images backed up. Some are 2MP, 3-4-5 and larger. I want to go through and select only 5MP and above images.

Is there something I'm missing? A way to just take all of these and blow away the undersized, save the images that meet the standards. I don't use Picassa, or maybe someone has an easy way to cull out the old small images? Software based, automatic. I have one for Alamy but it defaults at something like 24MP.

I'm drawing a blank and somehow think there should be an easy answer that's escaping me at the moment.

Ardbeg - Corryvreckan. Special treat.

Still looking but Lightroom users, here's an interesting plugin.

This plugin (for Lightroom 2 and later, Win and Mac) is designed to fill a specific need that some pro photographers have, which is the ability to sort images by their megapixel size, even after cropping.

Still looking for one that will cut off at 5MP, this one works for 4 and then 6...

If you're using windows there's a whole bunch of file attributes you can sort by including image dimensions just using basic explorer

Sorry, I have no answer. Just butting in to ask about your Corryvreckan pics. Have you got them online somewhere? Did you shoot from a boat or a plane?

Bottle of Ardbeg Corryvrekan, purchased in Chicago in June.  :D

For everyone else: Corryvreckan takes its name from the famous whirlpool that lies to the north of Islay, where only the bravest souls dare to venture. Swirling aromas and torrents of deep, peaty, peppery taste lurk beneath the surface of this beautifully balanced dram.

(Please note: we regret we cannot ship whisky to North America and certain EU countries.)

Which means I have to drive about 100 miles and pay a premium from one of the few USA stores that handles it. But worth it all. Roughly $100 a bottle. Make that, for the one bottle in the collection. This isn't a daily thing.

I have Powerdesk which replaces Explorer, but if the file attributes searches for MP, instead of file size, I had the answer the whole time and just didn't look. Thanks Heywood!
