Title: Image use question
Post by: littleny on January 15, 2018, 18:58
Im embarrassed to admit i don't know the answer to this question.  I found one of my images on amazon.  apparently its being sold as a photography backdrop.  i have my images on all the major micro stock sites for many years and I've run across various images on websites and in print in travel brochures.  but I'm questioning the right for my image to be used to be resold like this backdrop.  is that even legal?

It would obviously depend on the T&C of the company they got it from, but 'items for resale' is usually a purchase option, usually requiring some sort of extended licence.
I believe that some of the agencies have deals with buyers that they don't have to buy the EL unless someone actually buys the product. I have no idea how they police that.
