Title: ImageBrief "premium" membership
Post by: Elenathewise on August 11, 2015, 11:40
ImageBrief is closing their "founding premium program" on Aug 14... I have a basic account there and never managed to earn anything, although been "shortlisted" a number of times. To upgrade to "premium" is $500 a year. Anyone here holds their "premium" account? And if yes did it help at all with getting sales?
Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure the only party that benefits from that payment is Image Brief.

Paying someone $500 to show your images to clients is a mug's game.

I don't think I've read of anyone getting $500 worth of anything from the membership.

I was also shortlisted a few times and have not sold anything. Good luck to anyone who wants to be Premium Member!

They are closing it to future signups but keeping the program open to those grandfathered in. This means those who are in must keep paying each year to remain active. I am sure they will see a defect rate such that they will have to close the entire program and eventually the site. Has anyone ever seen their brief closed and awarded? I haven't.

I've been a regular member for 6 months, I've been a Professional Photographer for a few years, I haven't sold anything yet! When checking the short listed shots, I would often get excited, thinking I had shots that were better, after submitting my shots in the very narrow time frame they give you, sometimes staging my shots with Models, going to great efforts, I would hear no feed back! I have noticed the short listed shots that were there at the beginning, don't change, the same crappy short listed shots are still there after the time clock has expired, then you see, that they're still accepting Images, days and weeks later!!
I just upgraded for a 3 month period, to give it one last go, hoping that they show a preference to full members!
I have hope that if I'm able to sell just one shot, that will pay for the cost of upgrading!
I'll write again and let you all know if I'm successful!

Has anyone ever seen their brief closed and awarded? I haven't.

I followed closed briefs (50) to which I added images, about 20% was awarded and 80% not.

Just thought I'd have a go at something and discover....
with freebie account you only get to submit ONE image to a brief.
I must have missed that in the small print! :(

Show them your portfolio, if they like, you get ten image submit limit per a brief.

anyone doing well on IB? in the Premium accounts section? Just curious. I don't have much up, but also can't buy into the paying for premium membership thing. I'm trying it out and probably should get more up, but is it worth the effort? interesting model but not sure if I like it as it is being implemented.

Not sure if it's worth it. Never heard back anymore after getting shortlisted couple of times, so I never considered a premium account.

I havent signed up to Premium (as of yet). My RM folio is still too small to get my monies worth. In saying that i did get a sale recently from the new reverse search, so getting work uploaded to your profile can pay off.

I's worth looking at their closed and ended brief's that have NOT had any images shortlisted before you commit to spending money.

I upload what I have on file, been shortlisted a few times but not licensed anything yet and I sometimes think I am speaking another language to the person whom writes the brief's because the images chosen have NOTHING whatsoever to do with the brief wording.

Again they have a lot of hype on the site and talk about shoots that have been commisioned and just like Stocksy they do not disclose any information regarding sales JUST potential sales.

I will never pay to sell something! That`s so stupid and criminal in my mind.

They are still sending emails to recruit premier membership. I am doing ok selling elsewhere and not interested in paying to sell.

Update: only 16 - 17% was awarded. This is some kind of issue, low award value
