Have you ever had an editorial photo sell that was used for nefarious purposes/was likely to be used for such by their search or to imply something wrong that was not in any way implied by the photograph or in your keywords?
I know we have no control over how our images are used but is there ever a way to deal with this? If a news source uses a photo to push some false news, is it kosher to write to that news source with the facts?
What country? Some have made it against their laws to misrepresent something as real, in the news, or in false advertising.
In the end, we honestly don't have any control over the use, the buyer can take Editorial Only and do what they want. The legal obligation on our part and the agency has been fulfilled. Images for license with limitations. If there's a suit, the buyer is responsible for the misuse.
In another way of saying that, if someone pays for use of one of my images, they can pretty much choose, to do what they want, I have no control or responsibility.
