Title: Interesting "Artification" of Content
Post by: Sean Locke Photography on January 31, 2010, 10:21
The sideburns on this fellow below, in this image from Scouting Magazine, caught my eye.  Lo and behold, turns out it is one of lisafx's images, montaged with something else, and artified to be an illustration.  Pretty neat.

The photo of the boy is by Natasa778 and is here:

(How do you embed an image here?)

It's a shame that although they credit the artist, they haven't credited the photogs - isn't that an editorial article? (though as neither photog is iStock exclusive, they may have bought the images from elsewhere).

Very cool - I bet that somewhere there's images that relate to the background and basketball too.

Very interesting __ thanks for posting.

As far as the lack of credits is concerned, maybe the artist didn't want to reveal the sources of his 'inspiration'? I imagine it is much quicker to produce a picture from a montage of photos than drawing it from scratch.

iStock t&c state that credit must be given (artis/istockphoto.com) on editorial images, but I don't know the position of other agencies, or whence the images were bought.

Wow, I totally missed this thread!   What they did with the images really looks cool.  I'm sure hubby will enjoy seeing himself rendered that way.

Thanks for posting Sean.  Sorry I missed it originally :)
