Title: Is it worth uploading on these sites?
Post by: Artist on August 02, 2012, 02:01
Hello, I wanted to know that is it worth uploading on the following websites.

Vectoriel.com
Cutcaster.com
Stockfresh.com
mostphotos.com
zoonar.com
GLStockImages.com

I have got my few images online but I can hardly find any sales in them. How are your performance with them.
I am planning to delete my portfolio with them. Let me know your views.

You probably need a few thousand images to get regular sales with some of these sites.  I don't see the point in deleting portfolios and leaving.  Why not concentrate on the big sites until your getting regular monthly payouts with them and then start uploading to these smaller sites again?  With a big portfolio, the earnings from these smaller sites add up nicely over the years.

If you can hardly make sales with bigger agencies, you definitely can not make anything with these.. If you are making $100 on shutterstock for example you will probably make $1 per month on stockfresh, GLStockImages etc..

About Zoonar, cutcaster mostphotos?  ;D ;D I need more smileys to be able to describe them :)

vectoriel? I don't even know them, but almost %100 sure, they are useless too..

GLStockImages.com is the only one on the list worth the upload.

Vectoriel.com invited me to be one of the first ones in "at the launch" back in 2010, and then again in 2012!!!! lol

^^^I did 1 minute of work with Stockfresh last month and made $14.  I did one minute of work with Yaymicro and made 18 euro.  Of course there was the initial upload that was done in the background while I was editing new photos.

I can spend zero time on them now and the money still trickles in each month.  I don't consider that a waste of time but it's only worth doing for people that get lots of monthly payouts from the big sites.

Agreed that Yay is definitely worth it too, I didn't mention it because it wasn't on the OP's list

StockFresh and GL are the two on that list that I think are worthwhile. I get almost monthly payouts from SF, and GL seems to be rebounding after a bit of a slowdown for several months.

I got beat up pretty badly in another thread about SF, but I'm still fairly confident that they will succeed. I've personally seen increasing sales and views, and a couple of weeks ago I had a buyer contact me asking about custom work, saying that they found me on SF. It's nothing to really get excited about yet, but it's also not anything to lead me to believe that SF is in trouble. On the contrary, they claim to be doing well, seeing increases month after month, and I'm seeing similar results in my own numbers.

First concentrate your efforts on all the Top and Middle Tier than before you go to bed upload to the Low Earners. Check your earnings once a month on the low earners and sometimes you might get a nice surprised but if you don't who cares right? I figure 40 to 80% of your earnings are going to come from the Top Tier so put in 80% of your efforts to them...
