my sales have been significantly slow since  mid dec 2008 and it continues till now  as expected . I hope  sales will start to pick up  soon since the first week of jan is over. I would like to know how your experience  is  and expectations on when sale would get back to normal?

Cheers

I would have expected it to pick up a bit more by now, but maybe the late holiday last week has affected things...

Still down 25% off "normal" weekday sales. Hope it improves soon too.

Cheers

My Fotolia was the first to pick back up this week. Dreamstime are back up and almost at full speed in the last two days. Shutterstock saw it's first normal day yesterday as well as today for me. Istock is still waiting to pick back up steam, very slow right now. I had a BME there last month and now looking at 70% drop same time this month from last but I hope that is due to the holiday and will change over the next few days. Love to hear what others are seeing.

Best,
AVAVA

It's a slow start for me for 2009 all round.
Would certainly like to see more sales.

I'm -30% when compared to Dec 08. Here's the breakdown:

SS: -45%
IS: +220%
DT: -60%
FT: -35%
StockXpert: -70%
123: -40%

On the bright side, compared to Jan 08 (my worst month last year), I'm +30%!

Through yesterday, the whole month didn't equal a decent day, but today is normal so hopefully we're back on track. One thing that has helped is IS seems to be back to normal. The images that sold multiple times a week prior to last summer have suddenly started selling again.

Yesterday and today are just about back to normal.  Last year it took until about January 10th before my sales came back up.  It's all how the holidays & weekends fall I guess.  Still, it's rough when your sales tank for at least 1/4 of December and 1/4 of January.  Hopefully everything is nothing but up from here on in.  With a shaky economy, you never know what might happen.  I personally think that even just maintaining your sales in an economy like this is still progress.

I'm still a relative newbie. The end of this month will mark my first full year selling microstock. My sales were building steadily until last summer. When the US economy tanked so did my sales. Suddenly, I've had 6 sales so far this week. Go figure!

Things really picked up today everywhere except IS. And believe it or not, some Christmas images were amongst those sold. So I guess the holidays not over for some  :)

Monday was slow but yesterday and today were closer to normal.

I looked at my IS stats from last January and things didn't get back to normal until after the 10th. There are still plenty of people on vacation and just getting caught up from the holidays so I'm thinking after the 14th sales will start picking up (I hope).

Actually, January 7th is orthodox Christmas so it makes sense, I even sold a related icon yesterday. :)

IS has been dropping to new lows this week as everyone else is picking up. I have seen my IS almost disappear. Hope some change soon.

With the Financial crisis, and a Christmas that lasted as long as 12 days for many, January should start slowly this year. The first normal workday wasn't until the 5th in most of the world.

Still, I'm 19% ahead of January 2008 as per the 7th, so no complaints here   ;D

I'm ahead 500% so far over Jan 08 but on track for being lower than last month. After a sluggish first few days things seem to be picking up closer to normal.
