Title: istock exclusive or not?

Hi - I'm new to microstock, here's a question: if you have a contract with istock & shutterstock can
you have the SAME images at both sites as long as your not exclusive to istock?

Yes, the only images that must remain exclusive to istock are those by exclusive contributors.

So does it make since to have all my micro stock images at the top 3 sites? or go exclusive at istock
& get higher accepts, more % of sales,  etc...

That's a whole other question, and one that has been hashed, rehashed, and is currently being debated once again in a thread started earlier today. Perhaps you'd like to redirect your attention to that thread so we can keep all the repetition in one place.  :)
