overall BME for microstock
* Highest number of DLs at DT ever but lots of subscriptions.
BME best month ever
BM2008 best month 2008
WM2008 worst month of 2008
Strange how differently the sites performed on the last day of the month some sites virtually no sales but the busiest day of the month at others
-
Overall revenue + 5% compared to last month
istock 35,1% (worst month of the year)
shutterstock 23,9% (BME)
dreamstime 10,1%
stockxpert 8,6%
shotshop (german) 8,3%
fotolia 6,5% (BME)
digitalstock (german) 5,1%
123rf 1,5%
istock took a nosedive, revenue -20% compared to already bad month of June :(
Nice comeback of shutterstock :)
-
Well for the first time in awhile I uploaded some new stuff. So shutterstock got a big boost.
SS: 42% up
StockXpert: 15% up
FT: 12% up
DT: 12% down
IS: 11% up
123RF: 3% down
BigStock: 2% down
Other: 2% down
Overall up about 4.4% over last month, 3rd best this year.
-
Still I got mostly DL on SS:
SS 81.13% BME
StockXpert 7.88% BME
123RF 5.19% BME
DT 3.97% BME
CS 0.72%
FT 0.57%
IS 0.55%

Great month. After a very slow first 15 days, I uploaded constantly in the second half of the month and pulled out an overall record month.
Total: $378 (BME)
SS 33%
IS 28% BME
DT 18% BME
BigStock 7% BME
123RF 6% BME
FT 4%
StockXpert 4%
Other 1%
iStock was quite slow for almost the entire month. But they delivered me 2 EL's and a flurry of sales in the last 3 days of the month, and that put them into 2nd place with a BME.
-
It was a good month, especially for summer, although only at some sites. Overall income this month was up 3% over June and 33% over last July (2007)
IS 29% (up slightly)
SS 26% (up 13% but had 2 ELs)
FT 14% (down 17% - would have been down 44% were it not for 2 ELs this month)
DT 10% (flat - would have been down 25% without an EL)
StockXpert 10% (up 6%)
BigStock 8%
123 3% (down 41%)
-
BME over all the sites, with 20% increase in overall income.
SS 49%
IS 22%
DT 9%
StockXpert 7%
FT 7%
RF123 3%
BigStock 3%

My second month in microstock world.
increasing about 100% over the first month.
Mostly SS... I'm not in IS yet >:(
SS 80,5%
StockXpert 13,3%
DT 4,7%
123 1,5%
FT 0%
FP 0%
YAY 0%
BS 0%
I don't understand the fame of FT... only 2 sales in 2 months.
And I'm waiting the day I will upload the last image to enter IS!!!!
I'll be there with my best seller in SS!! :o
-
Not a bad month, my second best (since March), would have been a lot better, but I uploaded only 10 new photos at the beginning of the month, and that shows especially on Shutterstock.
Shutterstock: 27.3% (down 27%)
IstockPhoto: 37.1% (up 27%) BME
Fotolia: 13.6% BME (thanks to 2 ELs)
Dreamstime: 8.7% (this site is starting to be consistent for me)
StockXpert: 8.5 %
123RF: 3.2%
BigstockPhoto: 1.7% (no EL's this month, this one is really slow)
Time to upload something :)
-
Down about 15%, mostly due to the fact that I only uploaded a few files at the beginning of the month (still second BME).
SS 44,84
IS 17,45 BME
StockXpert 13,18
DT 8,49 BME
FT 7,35
123RF 7,02
BigStock 1,68
Other observations:
- lack of uploads really show in SS earnings, down about 30%
- IS is really going in the right direction, love the vector sales
- pretty bad month at fotolia, I think the search engine was changed again
- even though July was first month that was not BME I'm still satisfied with earnings. With almost no work I earned quite a nice sum :D
Have to edit the holiday pics and finish some illustrations.
PS: No earnings poll this month?
-
Here are my figures, all compared to July 2007.
Total: Up 31%
SS 29% – down 15%
IS 15% – up 1%
DT 15% – up 82%
FT 14% – up 59%
StockXpert 7% – up 48%
FP 6% – no sales July last year BME
123 5% – up 193% BME
BS 4% – up 73%
Cre 2% – up 1600%
Scanstock 1% – up 100%
SV 1% – no sales July last year
Canstock 1% – up 0%
SS is very disappointing, particularly considering their recent increase in payouts. That means that the decline is actually much steeper, but this seems to be the long term trend. DT had a very good last half of July after a disappointing start with many subs. FT is also showing solid performance, but the real winners are 123rf and FP. Particularly FP is interesting, since the sales there have been spread out throughout the month.
-
My 7th and surprisingly my best month.
SS 46% BME thanks to two EL and despite no new uploads
IS 45% DLs down 2%, earnings up 12%
123 3.5% BME
StockXpert 3%
SV 2%
DT 0.5% WME
-
PS: No earnings poll this month?
I just filled out the new earnings poll, and the RPI Statistics. I don't think results start showing up for the RPI statistics until there are at least 10 entries for an agency.
-
2nd worst month this year. However, by far not as bad as I expected. I only uploaded 5 files to SS and less than 10 to FT. Haven't uploaded to IS and DT since April. FT was again my best earner and the new month started with an EL.
Breakdown:
Overall: -6%
FT: 42,3% (a bit down to June)
IS: 32,6% (down to June)
SS: 18,3% (up from June)
DT: 6,8% (bit down from June)
-

I meant the poll about how much we made from stock in July, just like there was one for June:

My microstock numbers for July:
http://www.pixelsaway.com/C911796005/E20080801094202/index.html
I had 17% earnings growth in July, but also a major shift between main players: IS went down and SS went up and took the lead.
IS+SS are providing 78% of my income.
I took a week of vacations from microstock in July - paddling, racing and shooting just for fun.
-
BME for Revenue and close to BME for downloads on a vacation month for myself so I am quite happy ;D
SS 40%
DT 25% BME

BigStock 5% BME Tied

StockXpert 3.64% (WME)

BigStock 2.14% (tied another WME month)
CS 1.43%
CanStockPhoto 1.07%
FP, MP, SR & YAY: 0.00%
Overall, sales in July were 19.7% lower than June.
thoughts:
SS dropped quite a bit, I'll attribute it to summer vacations.
Sales on StockXpert sank like a brick in a swimming pool. SV almost beat them...
Sales picked up a little bit on SV--hope this trend continues.
-
SS: 46% - BME
IS: 38% - BME
DT: 9% - down 10% (but BME on DL's - June had more EL sales)
FT: 4%
BS: 1.8%
Overall BME by a big margin, and broke the $1k in a month mark for the first time :)
-
IS 27% (WM2008)
DT 19% (BME)
StockXpert 16% (BME)
SS 15%
FT 14%
123 6% (BME)
BS 2%
I haven't uploaded many recently, and i have begun to realize that SS doesn't really do very well for the long term. The BME's at StockXpert at DT (both quite a leap ahead of usual) were a nice surprise.
-
BME.
1300-1500+ images approved on most sites.
BigStock - down 50% from last month
StockXpert - a few dollars below last month
Alamy - 1 RF sale more $$ than a lot of my micros make per month
-
If the stats here are any good, the following should be within 5% of your micro stock earnings last month.
melastmohican $2,462
Danp68 $386
Jsnover $2,307
noam $716
Epixx $1,157
Mwp1969 $61
Jsolie $410

July is my BME so far but barely better than june.

Analysis vs. clairvoyancy
Put the link to your DT profile up and I will have a go.
-
not even a fingerprint, until I see people thanking you for your free accounting.
-
ha ha ...
It is interesting ...
Been keeping tracks of about a thousand people on DT. Since it has stats like how many in a portfolio, how many sold. Each month I do an evaluation of how things went.
This 0.17 per image online at DT is an interesting equation though.
-
litifeta that is good one. I wonder what is a formula for your calculations? You are so much off :-)

How I wish you were right... I did say I only just broke the $1K mark for the first time though! I don't think average RPI is a good indication of individual portfolios - it will vary considerably for individual contributors. On DT other factors such as acceptance ratios, time on the site and how long images have been on the site, not to mention whatever else goes into their secret sauce come into play.

I'm sorry to tell you, you are wrong about me too - My total was about double that figure - hope it will help you next time.

No offence, Litifeta, but as evidenced in your other posts, math is not your strongest suite.

No offence, Litifeta, but as evidenced in your other posts, math is not your strongest suite.
They are your figures. No mathematics involved, other than times and divide.
All I did was your percentage figures, then went to the DT site and times your portfolio by 17 cents ... which over >>>> in the right you all reckon is the average.
I never supplied these figures, you guys did.
IF you read my post CORRECTLY you see I said: If the stats here are any good ...
So maybe kgtoh - maths may not be my strongest, but English is not yours. BTW, the correct term is "strongest suit". drop the 'e'.
-
I think you've just found out how meaningless average/mean is when used without stating a standard deviation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standard_deviation) and/or confidence level/interval (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confidence_interval).

You cheated. I already listed mine above at $379. :)
-
Thanks for correcting my English.
revised version:
Math is not your strongest Suit and that seems to include simple multiplication and division, possibly also addition, subtraction and counting.
:)
Also, FYI, correcting people's spelling mistakes on an informal forum in order to create some sort of comeback is the lowest of the low. Oh, the shame. tsk tsk.
-
Don't take cheap shots at others if you cannot take it yourself Toh.
BTW, if you are going to dabble in an intercourse in English, at least learn the basics. It is culturally offensive to us with it as our first language seeing it mish-mashed and flogged about.
Also, you are in no position to determine what is the "lowest of low".
-
ok.. i guess we are done talking about your july earnings.
