Title: Just curious
Post by: ThreeRivers on January 16, 2018, 05:38
In general, is January a slow month for most people compared to other months? Maybe it's just me, but I've noticed that trend over the past 3-4 years since I started.

I find usually takes a week or so to get up to speed....this year looking horrific so far!

It should be slightly slower than other months, but your mileage may vary. For me this January is doing fine.

From my little experience January is slow until the 15th, then it turns normal.

Same here, first two weeks slow then sales pick up. As far as I know pretty much all small retail is like that, not only microstock.

January is usually my worst month.

Except for this year. I've had more downloads in the past 18 days than in my previous best month last year

Yes, generally middle of December to middle of January is the slowest period of the year for me.

For people with lots of Christmas stuff (and fireworks) it might be one of the best periods. In December, sales shift very heavily toward anything related to Christmas, New Years, and winter (for music, footage and images).

My strongest periods are usually April-May + October-November.
