Seems like all the sites have realized its not much use having 880,000 and counting or 150,000 images if a lot of them are badly keyworded so StockXpert are the latest to start their Keyword clean up campaign.

i suppose it doesn't help matters that most sites allow you to change your keywords and also list the most popular keywords that week though that would be a tedious process I presume the "spamming" is done at the upload stage.

Though I can't believe in the month of June the msot popular keyword at Shutterstock is easter

At least with StockXpert bulk editor it is a bit easier to scan though to spot any offending words.

I had an Easter image downloaded after Easter, but not this month.

I guess some people work ahead. :)

Well, it's about time. I see a lot of the stock hot shots post their "sexy women" accompanied by a whole dictionary of keywords.

Shall we start a thread for worst spamdexing?

Just had two images rejected from Can Stock as I had left the keyword "vector" in - Doh!

They were rasterized vector graphic images

I can resubmit but how long would it have taken for the reviewer to delete one ****ing word now it goes to the back of a ten day queue. Not that anyone uis going to buy it there anyway. They should have reduced their minimum payout to $10 not $50.

So pay attention to your keywords folks to avoid frustrating delays

I think that StockXpert should get some consistency in their approvals

"thanks but we are not looking for such an image" is the worst rejection especially when the same building but a slightly different angle gets approved.  Same thing with a tower that I took a picture of.  Its the funniest thing ever.  So that taken into consideration, the keyword cleanup should be just as much of a joke as approvals

They have warned about this over a month ago, the reason being that it might fool buyers.

I had one image deleted on May 22nd - the same day they posted the waring at the forum - because of this (my only illustration in which had "vector" as a keyword), which I found frustrating exactly because I had to resubmit it, and they hadn't even let time for us to clean the keyword ourselves.  I emailed them right after saying that it would have been nicer to email all members asking them to review this and after let's say a week or two they would then remove all images still having the keyword.

yep I fell for the same trap (a couple images were deleted which had the word vector in them on canstock) :(

mind you if you do a search for vector on their site you still find 695 images.. quite a few for not having vectors and deleting a bunch of images with the word vector in the keywords.

... just surfing to see if anyone had any rejections for  'keyword spamming".  Until now, I was a  'keyword spamming" virgin.  I had almost an entire batch rejected for that reason by StockXpert!!!  It kind of blew me away. Generally speaking, I use the same keywords everywhere, they only differ on sites that have a quantity limit, like SS.   I looked at them and really didn't think I was pushing it. I contacted StockXpert and got a return email telling me what specific words were 'Spam".
I was blown away again.  One example.  I have a shot of Half Dome taken from Glacier Point in Yosemite NP.  The shot is from the trail head looking out at Half Dome. Half Dome IS the picture.  Half Dome is in the title and in the description. Yet,  I was told that  "Half Dome"  was spam.  ????
Another pic  is one of my best sellers.  It is a shot of the hydro-electric intake towers at Hoover Dam. Same deal,  the shot  IS the intake towers,  intake towers is in the title and in the description.  Yet,  StockXpert shot it down,  "intake towers" was spamming.  ?????
One other thing I learned,  never use the word 'destination' in any kind of travel shots at StockXpert. They shot it down in every 'park/landscape' shot I uploaded.
Now,  I'm like hesitant about loading anything new...  like was said above, I had to go back and reload all those pix and hope that what meager wording was left will not be 'offensive' to the reviewer.   We'll see what happens...
StockXpert is the only site to reject me for this.  Hey, I'm all for controls on keyword spamming, I've seen some really wacky and non-relevant keywords out there.  But gee.... how can the object of the photo be spam?

Have any others been hit with this rejection elsewhere?
