I was recently contacted after submitting a few images to their request for images. They pay $60 per image but i just saw they want all the rights to the images purchased. Daylight fcukery in this day and age
We are purchasing the videos/photos including all rights. This means that we will be the owners of the video/photo and will have full control over it. If we purchase your videos/photos you may not sell, transfer, sublicense or grant any rights in such videos/photos to third parties, or allow them to use or publish the videos/photos. You will retain your right to display these videos/photos on your portfolio.

Granted it's a low price-per-photo, but say you have a portfolio of 1000 photos. Keep in mind that maybe 80% of your portfolio will never sell or earn at least $60 during its shelf life. So how much money would 1000 photos net you yearly? If you expect your hypothetical 1000 photos will earn you at least $60,000 in the next few years, then it's easy to decline the offer. If you're in need of the money or not too sure whether you'll ever make that amount, take their offer.
If they don't want to pay for your entire portfolio, but only want your best-sellers, then it's an obvious NO.

For commission work $60 is obviously sweat shop labor. But if you already have the images then you'll need to figure out what is the likely life time value of those images on stock. And how easily can you create new versions that are similar but different for stock once you've sold those images for $60 each.

I can easily shot 15 images a day. At 60 bucks per shot that would be 900 per day....Not a bay day rate...Sign me up...

They are shockingly extraordinary numbers for me. The issue is, if they are going to reject files like SS now it rejects. Can someone indicate what agency it is?

I think the same. I just went back and read. Nowhere does it say if you submit say 100, they are going to buy 100. 100 images at $60 each is worth considering, if you get a guarantee. 2 images at $60 each might not be worth it. Maybe yes, maybe no.

Nope it’s not, you submit images and they pick what they like.

Actually the initial link to submit doesn’t specify exclusivity, it’s with the acceptance e mail I saw it’s exclusivity and when you revert to the site that it’s specified.

Actually the initial link to submit doesn’t specify exclusivity, it’s with the acceptance e mail I saw it’s exclusivity and when you revert to the site that it’s specified.

ooops, my fault then for misunderstanding. Apologies :)
short story, i once was googling spider names. My wife asked, why I look spiders, I am afraid of them. Explained that I had a nice close up of a spider for stock etc.etc. She proposed to enter a competition for insects. It was a cool "get 500 Euros" for an image. Reading terms it was 500 Euros in gift card. Email asking them it was "Unspecified shop" gift card plus "photography is all about fun" answer (plus all rights transfered confirmation for all participants no matter the winning status). Since then, I never submit before reading or email asking and having a proper answer :)

That's generally a wise move, no matter who or what you're dealing with.
Especially online. Especially these days. Especially when you've never heard of the person or the company.
