Early Registration Special – Register and pay in full by July 19 2009 and pay only $450. That’s 2 complete days of hands on instruction from 2 working professionals, one on one shooting time with professional fashion glamour and nude models and a full use commercial release for $225 a day. That is less then a half a day studio rental!

Internationally known fashion photographer, model coach and 5 time author Billy Pegram (http://www.billypegram.com) and
professional commercial stock, editorial fashion, glamour photographer Bobby Deal (http://www.realdealphoto.com) come together again to present the second in a series of seminars entitled, “Weekend with the Masters” The first seminar in May 2009 was a huge success and WWMII is expected to be even bigger and better then the inaugural event.

WWMII will kick off at 7:00 PM on Friday August 21, 2009 with a meet and greet cocktail party at the 6,000+ sq ft. 4 story luxury loft home that will serve as the location for this special event.  Starting at 9:00 AM Saturday and Sunday, attendees will meet for coffee and bagels followed by short interactive lecture sessions with both Billy/Bobby while the models are in makeup. Catered Lunches will be provided Saturday and Sunday and are included in the cost of registration.

At 10:30 we will break up into pairs to start shooting our fashion, glamour and nude photo sessions with professional models. These are not to be your typical workshop shooting sessions with lights already set and metered for you. This is an intermediate class and attendees will discuss the lighting needs of a particular session with their instructors and then set it up and meter it with instructor guidance. While this is an intermediate class instruction will be tailored to meet the individual needs of each attendee regardless of their prior experience levels.

The seminar will take place in an ultra modern 6,000 sq. ft. four story contemporary loft style home. This location sits on a full ˝ acre with pool, spa, waterfall, palm tree background and a custom athletic court. The locations to shoot in this home are amazing and include a 3 story high great room featuring north facing windows with elevated shooting access from the 3rd floor Master Suite, a roof top hot tub and deck with panoramic views of the strip and or mountains in every direction. You can also shoot the grotto style back yard from this elevated position. The lower level features a custom pool table and spacious ultra bar and lounge setting with walk out access to the backyard.

Experienced fashion/glamour models will be available, some of whom have shot for Playboy and or other national and international publications. We will maintain a model to photographer ratio of 1:2 or better throughout the workshop. Models will provide attendees with a full commercial release with the exception of restricting the use of nudes on pay or adult porn sites. While models and makeup artists are compensated for their time at the workshop we do ask that you provide them with a handful of photos and show them the same consideration that you would show any service industry professional and offer them a tip based on performance at the end of the workshop.

This is an incredible experience to watch, learn, and shoot with the pros. Attendees will learn the secrets of posing models, special lighting techniques, and other valuable and practical methods focusing on improving your skills as a fashion/glamour photographer.

Learn the secrets, the tricks and the techniques of photographing high fashion and glamour models that will set the mood and help you to develop a unique and personal style that allows your work to stand out in the crowd! Seize the opportunity to shoot Playboy or high-fashion style under the tutelage of internationally recognized fashion/glamour photographer Billy Pegram. Study specialized lighting techniques for both studio and location from professional commercial stock, editorial fashion, glamour photographer Bobby Deal.
What: A full two-day seminar preceded by an evening meet and greet cocktail party

When: Meet and Greet August 21st, Instruction and shooting August 22 & 23

About Your Instructors

Bobby Deal (http://www.realdealphoto.com) spent much of his life as a serious amateur photographer before turning Pro in 2001. Commercial stock photography is the core of Deal’s work as he now licenses in excess of 40,000 images per year! Moving to Las Vegas in 2008, he opened Vegas Vision Studios (http://www.vegasvisionstudios.com), a 6,000 sq. ft. commercial studio complex to serve the needs of both photographers and the video production community of Las Vegas. In addition to teaching hands-on workshops, shooting custom stock images that are continually licensed by some of the biggest companies, television studios and publications in the world Deal runs the day-to-day activities of the studio, and continues to shoot local, regional and national commercial, editorial, fashion and glamour assignments for clients such as Swimbay Swimwear, Auto Nation, VQ Action, ALSA, Ken Roberts Productions, Post Modern Group and the Yellow Pages Association and many others.

Deal has a strong knowledge of studio and location lighting, which, combined with his love for the dramatic and artistic world of glamour and fashion photography, lends his photographs an intensely individual style.

Billy Pegram (http://www.billypegram.com) is an internationally known fashion photographer, director, producer, and writer. His photos have appeared in media around the globe for clients such as Fila, Swatch, Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance a wide variety of haute couture designers, including Isis Couture, Billionaire Mafia, Helly Hansen, Bikini Bay , and many others.

This is a microstock forum and the reviewers will go bananas about all the unreleased artwork and designer furniture in the house. Just make sure to shoot wide open so that nobody can recognize the eifel tower picture on the wall. Macro RM photography - fantastic location. Just my 0.02.

Art work must be pulled off the walls for RM/RF Macro as well unless you have a property release from the creator. Looks like a super location to shoot. Wish you the best of luck.

Best,
Jonathan

What is one able to do with a full commercial release, if stock is not on the menu?
Title: Re: Las Vegas Weekend With The Masters II

I said that the workshop was not a stock workshop, meaning that stock will not be my focus while teaching. That said nothing is stopping a participant from creating stock at these workshops. Lord knows there will be pleanty of stock opportunites. The only restictions we place in the release has to do with Nudes, and that is simply to protect the models. If you want to come and shoot nothing but lifestyle stock at the workshop that is fine. It is also fine if you want to come and shoot stuff suitable for magazine submission. Either way the release covers the use.

Yea there are better ways to market nudes and with them you are able to provide at least some protection to the model. I have gotten to where I hesitate to even put bikini shots into Microstock anymore with the way are images get used and abused.

Title: VVS Redefining The Photography Workshop Experience
Post by: photoshow on August 16, 2009, 16:57
Hi Everyone, we have a really exciting lineup of workshops and shootouts coming up over the next 6 weeks. I hope you are all as excited about the opportunities as I am.

Our most exciting event to date Weekend With The Masters II[/size] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clq0kM1-Rys#ws-lq-lq2-hq-vhq-hd) is coming up next weekend and we still have 2 spots left for this workshop and I have frozen the price at the early bird registration special price of $450 for the weekend.

This is your opportunity to work one on one with 6 gorgeous models (a 2:1 or better model ratio is guaranteed at this event) as well as myself and Billy Pegram (http://www.billypegram.com), Billy has written 5 best selling books on photography and modeling for Amherst Media and is a dynamic teacher. You won't regret the opportunity to work with him.

The super low 2:1 model to photographer ratio assures you the opportunity to create your own unique content at this workshop. In fact we are so committed to ensuring that everyone gets unique content at this event that we are going to insist that every one shoot their own stuff and not just follow around and shoot the same stuff the person in front of you did.

We understand that as photographers you are making a real investment here and we know how frustrating it is at typical workshops to go to the trouble to concept a shoot and then do all the little things it takes to bring that vision to reality only to have 10 more people shoot it behind you. Vegas Vision Studios is committed to ending this practice and bringing some professional set etiquette back to the workshop shooting set. At WWTM2 we will work in groups of no more then 2 and when a group is done shooting a set with a model that set will be closed and the model will move to a new group and a new set will be lit elsewhere on the property. From this workshop forward this will be the VVS shooting policy for all full day or longer workshops.

If you plan to attend and have not already done so I recommend that you take a look at the models booked for this shoot and look over the Comprehensive Location Tour (http://realdealphotography.smugmug.com/gallery/9044880_T4Vfj) and start putting some ideas together for what you would like to try to accomplish. While I can not assure you will have the chance to shoot every concept with your 1st choice model we will do all we can to accommodate as many options as possible and ensure that you go home with content that is unique to you.

At VVS we believe that if you are paying for a multi day event then you deserve a VIP Treatment and to help provide that VIP Treatment the cost of your registration includes an open bar cocktail Party and orientation at the house on Friday from 7:00 - 9:00 PM, as well as soft drinks, water, breakfast and lunch on Sat and Sun as well as a BBQ dinner on Sat after we conclude shooting for the day.

Don't forget to check out the Calendar (http://www.meetup.com/vegasvisionstudios) for upcoming events including 3 exciting Stock Photography Focused events in Las Vegas and Phoenix AZ.

All the best to all of you and I thank you all for the opportunity to work with you.

Well after three intense days of models, photographers, make up artists, instruction and lots of unique fashion, glamour, nude, sports fitness, editorial fashion, court sports, bikini and body painting photo shoots The Weekend With The Masters II  Workshop has come to a close. I unloaded all the gear back into the studio about an hour ago, processed an image of the Bikini Team and am now off to bed so I can start putting together the next Weekend With The Masters Event at the End of Oct. I am hoping to be able to secure a working ranch for the next event!

Over the past couple of years now VVS (http://www.vegasvisionstudios.com) has been working on building a strong team of models for Fashion, Stock, Glamour, Nude and Event work.

Here are 4 members of the VVS Bikini Team as they appeared at the Weekend With The Masters II Workshop (http://www.meetup.com/vegasvisionstudios/calendar/10815276/) this past weekend in a Loft Style Party Home in Las Vegas this past weekend.

12 photographers enjoyed the opportunity to work in pairs and one on one with these 4 beauties as well as 7 other fabulous models over the course of the weekend event.

For those who missed this event you can read what the attendees have to say about it at Event Reviews (http://www.meetup.com/vegasvisionstudios/calendar/10815276/)

Hi Photoshow,

Great job! You must be bushed. Look forward to hearing about the ranch. Are you going to be adding more male models for up coming shoots?

Thanks,
Jonathan
Title: Re: Weekend With The Masters II - SOLD OUT AND Wrapped Up
Post by: photoshow on August 24, 2009, 19:52
Thanks Johnathan, yes we are all bushed. The house was 4 stories and I can not even begin to guess how many times I went up and down the stairs in the three days but I know I did not feel like I missed my gym workouts :)

I am doing research for the Ranch now and even though I know the world is tired of my promotional machine you can be sure I will post about it once I have the details nailed down.

I don't typically include male models in the Glamour / Nude workshops because of the obvious tension that it creates when you commingle models in that situation and I find that typically the attendees seem to prefer to just have females to work with.

For other styles of workshops we do use male models. We have our Muscle Monday's here in the studio once every 6 weeks or so which feature all male models as well as having couples for some of our Wednesday Night workshops. The stock shootout and the day at the Nelson Ghost town next month will both include male models in order to allow the attendees to focus more on lifestyle and editorial stock then on fashion and glamour.
