Good morning,

After actively submitting to seven agencies for several months (been IS exclusive before), I noticed a strange pattern on almost all of them:
My files with 5-10 keywords usually get ten times more views than files with 30-40 keywords. Especially on DT and FT. Don't know about SS, cause they don't provide view counts, but still my best sellers there have a relatively small amount of keywords.

Do keywords have more weight if their number is small?
Any thoughts?

Thank you :)

No (at least on iStock).  Why would an inadequately keyworded image get more exposure?  Maybe your simpler images are actually better?

I have one picture on DT with rope and chain tied together...

I can have several keywords like: rope, chain, rust, material, tie, etc...

I added some of new, like "power, strenght, stain... etc." and I had sale of that picture under "strenght" keyword...

It's spelled 'strength'. I hope you've been spell checking your keywords.

yes, in my case with DT most definitely.  with some sites you get a lot of look see.
another case could also be that my keywords are better with the ones with less views more sales.
i especially like it when i see eg. 2 sales 5 views. instead of 68 views 1 sale. or worst 190 views 0 sale. most of that i did when i was new one year ago.
some oldtimer told me it's my keywords. if i get 190 views and 0 sales, i could be using irrelevant keywords, and that could hurt my port because buyers will get sick of finding you with irrelevant keywords or spamming.
so i clean up to more like 7-15 keywords.
