The other day i was contacted from an agent for a TV company who was interested in one of my clips for use in a TV show. He wanted to license the clip directly from myself because apparently the license agreement from the stock site didn't cover what he wanted and the actual studio is fussy about these types of things, i guess for legal purposes.
So basically he wanted to offer 10 times the value of the clip and i would still own the rights, but in return i would have to sign an agreement. However I've always been a bit weary of these types of deals as i prefer to have that layer of protection by selling via the stock site. I've never done this before and I don't have a lawyer so i was wondering if anyone could offer any advice or mention anything that i should be aware of in the agreement if anyone has done something similar to this in the past. And also what are the biggest risks of signing something in a direct agreement?
